Ready to thank all the veterans in your life? 🇺🇸

Each year, on November 11th, we officially honor the men and women, both living and deceased, who have bravely served in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. This is a nice opportunity to acknowledge and say THANK YOU to those you know who have served or are currently serving, and to let them know how much you appreciate their sacrifice.

free printables for Veterans day

I’ve put together two free printable ideas that can help you and your family thank a veteran this year. I’ve designed a free printable card that you can print and write a personal note on. In addition, I’ve also put together a free printable candy bar wrapper that you can wrap around a Hershey’s chocolate bar or another candy bar as a sweet treat.

Both ideas are easy and quick to do, and are very small yet thoughtful ways to say thank you!

To use the candy wrapper, you’ll want to first print the wrappers on either cardstock (reonlinemended) or printer paper, and then cut them out. Wrap each around a 1.5 oz Hershey’s candy bar and tape it in the back to secure.

Hip Tip: if you’re planning on making a large amount of these wrappers, consider having them printed at an office supply store or a local printing store because it can often be less expensive than using your printer ink.

To use the thank you cards, I’d reonlinemend first printing them on heavy cardstock paper so they won’t be flimsy. Write a personal note inside, and then send it to a veteran.

Both of these ideas can be done as a family or solo.

You could consider getting a big group together and writing cards for your local Veterans Center. Maybe buy some candy bars in bulk and hand them out at your local Veterans Day parade as a nice random act of kindness! Something small like this can make a person’s day!

That reminds me of how we made friends after WW 2 with all the kids that had suffered. Only that time it was vets giving it to kids. This makes it onlinee full circle.

I wonder if there are many veterans living in my apartment onlineplex. I may go to the administration and ask, I hope they would tell me. Maybe I can give them a candy like that.

A nursing home would be even better because they can’t go out for all the freebies. My husband is temporarily in one for pt for his legs so he doesn’t get any. Plus one of his closest friends that is a vet died last month making it much worse. But his thoughts were on the guy admitted across the hall that is a vet from WW 2 and in his 90s. This will probably be his last year to be appreciated. We can’t help but wonder how many are in these nursing homes. Over 130 from WW 2 die daily. A lot of them have no family. As we age a lot of us get cold easy so a pair of heavy socks or a shoulder blanket would be nice too. I’ve gotten both for under $3. each. You could even ask the head of the home for ideas.

Thank you for this. I can’t wait to give these out to support those who serve! Being a military spouse, I love this idea!
