Good deal……but won’t arrive until Oct 1. Too late for that kiddo who’s excited for a new school backpack. 😦

  2. Jessica

It’s not letting me use the promo on the backpacks?

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Jessica! It appears the code only works on select backpacks, to see if it applies to the ones you’re looking at you can look for the offer listed below the name of the backpack. Hope that helps!

    • Meganne

It won’t work for me either : (

  3. MeeshaG

Which lunch bag did you try for the code? I tried on different ones and the code is not working. It gives me error: “This promotion is not valid because it either has no effect on your order total or it increases the order total.”

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey MeeshaG! I tried the code on all of the $7 lunch bags and it applied. When you’re looking at the lunch bags look for the promotion mentioned under the item name to see if it qualifies! Hope that helps!

  4. Michele

Code not working. Same message as poster above

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Michele! The backpacks that qualify will have the offer listed underneath their name!

      • Michele

I definitely see that now. Thank you

  5. Megann

    I don’t see any $7 lunch bags….

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Megann! The quickest way I found them is to search for backpacks and then sort low to high! Hope that helps!

      • Nav

Hi Chelsey, I am not seeing a sort option, any suggestions please?

        • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Oh, bummer. I see what you mean. I’m seeing a few options priced at $9.99 if you scroll down about three-quarters down the page. SO sorry for any confusion.

  6. jessa trett

Only Pottery Barn would advertise a backpack onlinepletely overshadowed by the (im sure) outrageously priced sofa. Its like advertising socks but you have the boots on over them. Lol

  7. MJ

I tried both gryffindor back packs and BIGDEAL wouldn’t apply. Maybe they changed it for the Harry Potter back packs which are probably more popular. Would love to know if they go on sale more in the future! 50 is just too high for me now.

    • Yvonne

Hi – there is a light blue version of the Magical Damask Harry Potter backpack that qualifies. I just purchased for 28.50. The burgundy version shown doesn’t qualify.

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey MJ! The code only applies to the Harry Potter Gear-Up Magical Backpacks! I’ll update the post to reflect this info as well!

    • Stef81

Same here. The promo code is not mentioned below those items either. Disappointing.

  8. suzy

The promo code wont work on the discounted bags-it excludes limited time deals

    • Chelsey (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Suzy! I’m still finding it to apply to the discounted bags that show the offer below the title. Are you able to try from a desktop or different browser?

  9. Audrey

Does anyone here use any of the Pottery Barn lunch bags etc.? I couldn’t find any reviews online about the hot and cold containers. I wonder if they work or are hard to open? I ordered one of the stainless steel water bottles but gave it away after noticing the rubber straw insert. That rubber stuff is impossible to clean! I’m having the hardest time finding a water bottle that will be easy to clean and not get mold trapped in it. Stainless steel is also heavy. I watched reviews with a mom mentioning that kids accidentally throw their containers away. Not sure about investing in cute stuff that might get tossed. Thoughts?

    • Audrey Jones

FYI – I ended up ordering just now from Pottery Barn Kids. I have a six year old and noticed good prices and things he would enjoy more on the kids side.

      • Allyson

Same here! Got backpack, lunch box, water bottle, and pencil pouch for my kindergartner.

    • Molly

We used to have a PB kids thermos for hot food – it was horrible. Food was ice cold by the time lunch rolled around. We use the lunch boxes and they’re fine. I’m not a fan of the bento box for younger kids… it’s hard for them to open. We’ve used Thermos funtainers for years and my kids have never thrown them away. I find they’re easy to clean if you buy the straw cleaning brush. They keep water cold and food hot with no problem.

      • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for all that helpful information, Molly! We sure appreciate you taking the time to onlinement! 🙂

      • Audrey

This was amazingly helpful. Thank you. I did already order one pb kids thermos container, but I’ll plan on just using it for cold foods. I couldn’t resist the Harry Potter design. I’m glad I didn’t get two. Thank you for the info about the funtainers. I’m seeing them on Amazon and have been reading reviews. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a straw cleaning brush! Good to know kids can be responsible too. This year will be my son’s first year at school so I appreciate all your help. There’s so much to learn.

        • kgak38

No need for a straw cleaning brush because the entire silicone spout and the plastic straw that attaches to it underneath the lid can be removed from the lid. I pull the straw out of the silicone and put all four pieces (spout, straw, lid, and container) in the dishwasher. I have couple of funtainers that are being used by kid #2 so they are definitely dishwasher safe and durable.

    • Anonymously

They’re not cool or cute, but I use snap lock or stainless steel for cold and Thermos brand for hot (fill with boiling hot water and let sit for the morning, warming the inside, then pour out and put in warm food). I’m using strawless Tupperware bottles for water. They now have pop top lids that don’t get lost.

  10. Jessi

There’s only like 5 lunch boxes that you can use the code on & they start at $14 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️

    • Amber

I bought 2 lunch boxes for $10.50. Look in the clearance section.

  11. Sue

Are these great quality? They have super nice looking ones at walmart in the school supply area for $5. Lots of prints both boy and girl ones.

    • Stephanie

My daughter has had one of these lunch boxes for two years and it still looks almost new.

  12. Melodi Kemprowski

Does anyone think the “sale” price items will go down? i like a 35$ bag and accessories but wondering if they will go less or pbteen will release a new code that will work before i order. if anyone has a code that works on sale items please lmk

  13. Adrianne

It doesn’t work on the Harry Potter Gear Up Blue Damask backpack even though it’s pictured. :(. It says it doesn’t affect my total or will increase it. What am I doing wrong?

    • Stef81

      Same here.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! You’re right. I’m seeing that now as well. Thanks so much for letting us know!

  14. Emmy

Thank You! I needed a backpack as my personal item for the plane ride to Disney! The Liberty London Faria Flowers backpack was marked down to $20. I applied the code and it is onlineing to me including the free ship for $16.10! WOW!! So beautiful too! Thanks Again!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome score, Emmy! You’re SO very welonlinee! Hope you have a wonderful trip!

  15. Jacki Ketchman

I got the same thing. I can’t seem to figure it out either 🙁

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the heads up! It looks like the code no longer applies to the Harry Potter Backpack. Bummer!

  16. KT

The pottery barn backpacks I bought a couple years ago made it one year. Barely. But the ones I got from Lands End are fabulous. They still look new. Maybe my kids are just rough on stuff 🤷🏼‍♀️

  17. Sara

I bought PB Teen backpacks for both of my kids last year, and they both still look brand new and will be used again this year! My son even managed to spill a bottle of glue on the inside pocket, but I was able to scrape it out once it dried, then threw the whole thing in the washer and it looks great!

I bought my daughter the matching lunchbox and water bottle too. The lunchbox is in good shape, though does show more wear than the backpack. She will still use it again this year.

The water bottle I am not fond of. The color has been scraped/ chipped, and I don’t like the plastic parts on the inside. If you close the lid too tightly, the plastic pops out and the bottle leaks. I replaced it with a Simple Modern Summit water bottle that has held up much better and is easier to clean.

Now I’m looking at these sale ones to get a new one for myself so I don’t have to borrow the kids’ anymore!

  18. Sue

Anyone purchasing from PB Kids should familiarize themselves with their return policy first. I bought a duffel bag for my grandson. I realize now that I should have checked the dimensions more carefully. It was so big that he wouldn’t be able to lift it with stuff in it. Although their policy says that they will accept returns for free at your local PB Kids store, they will not, if your local store is an outlet store like mine. They were very rude and acted like I should know, although their website does not mention that PBKs outlets are excluded. They told me to drive 2 hours to the closest regular PBKs to return it. I ended up just keeping it and my daughter uses it to store stuffed animals in his closet. It was the easiest solution and I no longer shop there!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for passing along the information about returns, Sue! I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. We really appreciate you taking the time to onlinement!
