   Does anyone know if it onlinees with a parent remote to control it or if that can be purchased separately?

  It does not have a remote or one that can be purchased. This one does include the parent controlled high-speed lockout for beginners. This means you can keep them at the lower 2.5 speed, not the higher 5mph.
