This Shimmery Shadow Stick Is The Best (& Easiest) Eyeshadow I’ve Ever Used
I love beauty products, but I’ve never really fallen in love with eyeshadow. But a few weeks ago, my mom gave me a Mally Beauty Shadow Stick (after receiving it in a beauty box) so I figured, why not give it a try.
It’s not that I don’t like eye shadow. I just thought it was time-consuming, made me look like I was trying way too hard, and honestly, I’m just not the best at applying it.
Frankly, I’m a little disappointed in myself that it took me so long to try an eyeshadow stick.
First of all, I think the color is gorgeous. 😍 The shade I have is Autumn Shimmer and it’s a deep, taupe pale pink color with quite a bit of sheen. To me, it’s the perfect neutral shade for an all over eyelid color.
Before applying any eyeshadow, I start by doing my entire face with makeup minus my mascara (I will curl my lashes so that I don’t risk taking off any of the eyeshadow with the curler after it’s applied).
Then there are two ways I will apply the shadow stick based on my mood or the occasion. I either apply it to my entire eyelid as a solid shade, or I apply it from the middle of my lid to the outer edges and leave some space near the inner corners for a lighter shade.
While the full color is application is a breeze, and it’s great for everyday wear, I like to go the latter route for a smoky eye effect when I’m going out for a nice event.
To get the smoky look, I apply the creamy eyeshadow stick along the crease of the eye, the outer edge, partly beneath the lower lid near the outer edge, and fill in the middle, leaving some space near the inner eye. I’m telling you, you’ll fall in love with this way of applying shadow because it glides on so easily, and you have much more control over the placement.
Then, I take a darker shade and tap it with a brush on top of the outer edges, beneath the eye, and in the crease. I find the creamy eyeshadow from Mally creates a solid base to help the powder shade stay longer.
Hip Tip: The shadow palette I use is from Target for under $13! Check out more of my beauty bag supplies.
Next, I use a lighter powder to highlight the inner part of the eye and a bit of the lower lid. This results in a simple ombre effect going from light in the inner corner to the neutral taupe pink shade in the middle to darker brown in the crease and outer edges.
onlineing from someone who’s never really been great at applying eyeshadow, this process beonlinees a breeze by the second time you try it! And if you wanted, you could ditch the powder eyeshadow and just rock a solid base of the Mally eyeshadow shimmer stick.
I’m thinking I may forgo the powder shadow altogether and pick up some lighter and darker shades of the eyeshadow sticks so that my entire application only uses Mally’s glide-on formula.
If you’re anything like me and want a simple way to perfecting your eyeshadow game, you’ve got to try out Mally’s eyeshadow sticks! Pick one up right now at Kohl’s while it’s on sale for only $10, originally $25!
Oh, and this post isn’t sponsored, I’m just in love with this eyeshadow stick. Though if anyone knows someone at Mally, tell them I love free makeup products! 😆
