Whole Foods Market Will Be Eliminating Plastic Drinking Straws from ALL Stores in July
Whole Foods is cutting down on single-use plastics!
Whole Foods Market recently announced that they will be eliminating plastic straws from ALL of their stores, including their Allegro coffee bars, juice bars, and cafés, by July 2019.
As a replacement for plastic straws, they will offer recyclable and onlinepostable paper straws to customers with frozen drinks or upon request. Plastic straws will still be an option for people with disabilities.
This is not the first time that the onlinepany has made efforts to reduce plastic in stores. In fact, in 2008, Whole Foods Market became the first U.S. grocer to eliminate disposable plastic grocery bags at the registers in all its stores. And they’re still continuing to cut down on plastics even more in 2019! 🙌🏻
In fact, the grocer switched to smaller plastic bags in its produce department this year. It is also replacing hard plastic rotisserie chicken containers with new bags using approximately 70% less plastic.
We’re loving Whole Foods even more! 😍
