Ugh! I’ve done this deal in the past at my local Target. Target.online has these for $2.99 but in store, they’re $4.99. The cashier kindly made the price match and scanned my coupons. The problem was that the coupon is for $3 causing a penny in overage. The cashier didn’t know what to do and called over the manager. The manager refused to adjust down to the price of the product to negate the overage. She initially claimed that I couldn’t use the manufacturer’s coupon because they already did the price adjustment. I show her Target.online’s price match policy which specifically states that manufacturer’s coupons can be used after a price match. Then, she made up that she can’t accept the overage. Then I show her Target.online’s coupon policy which states that the coupon’s value will be adjusted down to the price of the product. Finally, the manager said that it’s up to every store and that she plain out wasn’t going to adjust it. I’ve talked to customer service too and the girl working there wasn’t familiar with the policies and deferred to the manager.
On the bright side, I’ve shared these deal with my sister and she got it to work without any problems at her Target. This was such a negative experience that I’m on the fence about writing to corporate about how the manager was rude and had a lack of knowledge about the coupon policy/price match. It’s one thing to tell me as a customer that I am correct and then say that they can’t accept it due to whatever random reason, but the fact that she made up so many reason’s that were onlinepletely false irked me.
