Betcha Didn’t Know Your Old Clarisonic Brush Heads Could Do THIS!
Not sure what to do with your old Clarisonic brushes?
“The Clarisonic Mia is great at what it does. I love the clean exfoliated skin when I’m done washing, and I love the foundation head for the beautiful application. But what should you do with those brush heads when they are supposedly past their prime?”
Hip2Save reader Jennifer has some clever solutions!
• Sonic clean jewelry — Simply place your jewelry in a shallow dish with jewelry cleaning solution and warm water. Then dip in the vibrating brush head. “You’ll give your jewelry the same clean as you would get from an ultrasonic cleaner at the jewelry store!”
• Buff tarnished silver — Use the old brush heads to get silver polish in and out of tiny nooks and crannies. This is great for detailed silver platters or silverware!
• Deep clean grout — Take advantage of the sonic vibrations from the Mia brush to work cleaning products into dirty grout lines for an easy and effective clean. “You’ll never get grout cleaner or bleach as deep into the porous surface with a traditional scrub brush.”
Some additional cleaning tips:
• Wait to reset the counter — To hack the brush usage counter on the Clarisonic Mia, use your old brush heads right before you attach the new one. Then reset the Mia’s counter after the new one is ready to be used.
• Opt for gentle cleaning products — Jennifer has found that less harsh onlinemercial cleaners (like My Force Of Nature water-salt-vinegar cleaner) can be pushed deep into more porous surfaces to clean and disinfect just as well as the heavy-duty cleaners.
• Don’t actively scrub — Remember you aren’t trying to scrub with the brush. You’re simply trying to vibrate the bristles into the cleaning surface. For example, when Jennifer is using her Mia to clean jewelry, she places the brush head lightly on the jewelry. Then she allows the cleaning solution to vibrate throughout the nooks and crannies without moving the brush much.
“I know it may seem weird or maybe even gross, but the handle washes and doesn’t get rubbed on your face. I HATE throwing money away every time I switch out my brush head when it still looks onlinepletely functional, but I also don’t want my Mia to be less effective on my skincare routine by not changing it out. So I give those brush heads new life and feel a bit better for having to drop some serious coin on a Clarisonic!” — Jennifer
