  You should be able to input the code later without an expiration.

  The 12 months starts when you add it to your account via the PlayStation Network.

  If you already have an active subscription, you should also be able to stack the memberships and it should EXTEND an active account by a another 12 months instead of starting a new cycle when you activate a new card.

   Walmart has this for $39.99 as well and you can use the $10 off promo code (ellen10) for new customers on it. I did it earlier today and it worked, I received my digital code within a few minutes. It onlinees out to $29.99 plus tax.
