Turn a Pretty Candle Jar into a DIY Snow Globe for Christmas!
Have any leftover candle jars from places like Bath & Body Works?
If you have a candle addiction like me, you likely end up with a bunch of leftover glass jars, and you’re wondering what to do with them. Today I’m sharing the simple idea of making a quick and fun DIY snow globe!
If you’re into crafting, you may have all the supplies already!
I just used a handful of leftover poly-fil stuffing, a couple miniature bottle brush trees, and some mini figures found in-store at Michaels and you may want browse Dollar Tree for items, too. Small Christmas tree ornaments would work as well.
DIY Candle Jar into a Christmas Snow Globe
PrintSupplies Needed
- Used Candle Jar
- Poly-Fil Stuffing
- Miniature Brush Trees
- Mini Holiday Figures (Michael's has great ones!)
- Goo-Gone
Directions
1
Clean out the candle jar. The way I clean candle jars is to freeze the jar overnight. That makes it easy to use a knife to break apart and remove the pieces of wax and wicks.
2
To clean the label, Iβll soak the jar in hot soapy water and dish soap. (Goo Gone is helpful for removing super stubborn adhesive labels.)
3
Use glass cleaner to get the jar nice and shiny.
4
Create your snow scene. Use the lid to create a fun scene using your miniature supplies. In this example, I put the snow down and added the miniatures to the top, but I didnβt glue anything down (you can opt to hot glue everything down and then place the snow around it).
5
Place the candle jar on top of the lid (donβt glue the lid to the jar), and youβll have a cute snow globe!
What a cute and festive way to re-purpose a candle jar!
The next time you have some empty candle jars, save some for this craft. I think it’s a fun one to keep in mind for teacher appreciation or holidays like Valentine’s Day and Easter! My kids would love creating their own as well.
You can even use this idea to present a gift card in a unique way by placing one inside your snow scene (if you add a gift card, make sure to glue down the figures inside so they don’t fall over, and–again–don’t glue the lid down). ❤️
Have fun!
