My heater hasn’t worked in my Explorer for 2 winters now (I have spent over $2,000 trying to get it fixed, all the mechanics seem baffled). I have researched plug in heaters, and heated blankets for cars. LOTS of them end in fires. Read the reviews on Amazon, there is review after review of fires being started in moving vehicles. That being said….. does anyone have any suggestions on how I can keep warm in my car this winter, that doesn’t have a chance of catching on fire?

Have you tried purchasing one from a truck stop. I used to work at a Truck dealership and we sold electrical blankets for vehicles and I absolutely loved it for car trips for my son. I would think Truck stops sells them, and maybe if you live close to a Truck Dealership they can look into getting ordered for you.

My truck heat is no good.. I simply bought a space heater if sorts from a truck stop. It had to be hard wired to my battery. Not the cigarette lighter. It worked just fine.

Thanks! Groupon really needs to get their shipping situation together. It’s just not onlinepetitive. I don’t remember the last thing I bought off Groupon.

Your shipping was more than $3.99? I didn’t think that was too bad.

These same blankets are on amazon ranging from $19.14 to $24.37 depending on the color. If you have Amazon Prime, shipping is free!

      Oh awesome! Thanks, Jennifer!

In my experience, Groupon shipping takes forever! Great idea for the blanket but I will be shopping around for an alternative source.

These are at Walmart. Don’t remember the price but I think less than $20.

Great find, Lo! Thanks for sharing!

I’ve had one of these for a couple of years now. It has a two hour timer max in it and is great for the trip to work in the Am and for emergency situations as it’s pretty warm even turned off.

How neat! I would have loved one of these for long road trips to see family when I was younger! Thanks a bunch for taking a moment to onlinement!
