   I have a light similar to this one at the back of my house because my driveway wraps around so it is hard to see in the winter. These work well. You do need to wipe them off every now and then so they are clean. They onlinee on just about every night and stay on for a long enough for my mom who onlinees home at midnight to get in safely and then some. Usually its off in the early morning even when it us still slightly dark. Mine can be set to onlinee on at dusk so it’s not really motion activated. I’d imagine the batteries would last longer for me if it was only on for motion.

   how would i charge this or this battery operated? do i have to take it down to replace the batteries?

  These are solar so no batteries needed. They last a good amount of time, except on cloudy days. You may want to check how much sun they will get before placing them.
