Is this hair dryer worth the cost? Reader onlinements are mixed!

I used my friend’s while visiting and didn’t think it was anything special. It didn’t dry any faster but it’s heavier than my normal one so I felt like it was more work. I have thick hair that takes forever to dry even at the salon.

I got this as a Christmas gift. Even though it was a gift I really wanted to hate it because of the price, but I LOVE it. It cuts drying and styling time down, leaves my hair looking like I came out of the salon. My hair has also finally grown, my hairdresser has even noticed a difference in my hair since I’ve been using it.

There is a big difference between the professional and the low-cost dryers. I have thick hair and the cheap hair dryers took forever and my professional dryer is quicker, more temperatures, more powerful and the quicker dry I feel doesn’t leave my hair as frizzy or damaged. Think about when you go to the salon and they dry your hair vs when you use a cheap hotel wall dryer. To me, that is the difference.

I had it and returned it, my Babyliss hair dryer was faster and leaves my hair smoother. My hair was quite frizzy with the Dyson.

I’ve had mine for over two years and love it. Bought my boyfriend’s mom one for Xmas this past year because she loved using mine when they’d onlinee to stay for a visit.

I can’t onlinement on the quality of this but if you’re looking for a great blow dryer for a fraction of the cost, Costco sells the T3 that’s awesome!

    • Clara

I have the T3 and also own this Dyson hair dryer. The Dyson does outperform the T3, but for thrifty folks, I can see what the price tag would cause people to think twice. For what it’s worth though, I got the Dyson hair dryer as a gift, so I honestly don’t know exactly how much my husband paid for it.

Does this dryer helps grow hair out too? Why so expensive lol

  3. It’sMe

If this hair dryer works half as well as a Dyson vacuum, it would definitely be worth the price! I’m planning on buying one when my Chi dies.

    • Geo

I have curly hair that I need to diffuse to get any sort of volume. I couldn’t tell you how long it took me to dry my hair before I purchased this Dyson, but I’m down to under 15 minutes now using the lowest setting. I would purchase it again if it died tomorrow, if that tells you anything… Definitely reonlinemend!

My Dyson vacuum was cheaper than this hair dryer and I bought it through this site from Walmart about four years ago – $199.00. And it is, by the way, a great vacuum cleaner. Thanks.

  5. The1337wife

I bought this and returned it. I was so disappointed. I felt like my hair just blew all over and got snarly. The weight of it was also in a different spot than typical dryers making more difficult to handle.

  6. Nyomi1995

This looked pretty but didn’t work for me. Seems more of a gimmick or a overpriced bathroom decor. My T3 worked better. The airflow on this is more of a fan that a hairdryer. The T3 air is more focused and more controlled.

This is a classic example of form over function.
