  Use the Dot for this too, there is a setting (it verbally tells you about it) so that you can either have it go for an hour or until you tell it to stop. We listen to beach ambient / beach sounds all night 12+ hours. I have Prime though, so I’m not clear on if it is tied to what is free in their catalog or not and sometimes it changes, but there are thunderstorm, rainforest, crickets and a variety of sounds while beach/ocean is our fave.

   I use the White Noise app on my phone for a sound machine. It works with my phone on silent and onlinepletely free!!

  The one thing I don’t like about white noise apps is that there’s usually a slight interruption when the sound loop starts over. It’s tiny, but enough to bother me when I’m falling asleep. This machine doesn’t have that issue, which is nice. It also blocks out the sound for everyone in the room, not just the person with headphones or closest to the phone.

   I cannot say enough how much I love these! I’ve had mine for years, and not only use it to sleep every night, but also have used it (turned WAY up) to keep an anxious dog calm during fireworks. I take it everywhere when I travel, too. It is such a great little device that I also bought one for my mom.
