Awesome deal! I love these. I got mine from Michaels on clearance $1.50 each. Definitely going to get some from Dollar Tree.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yay! I’ll be grabbing these at my store too! 😉

  2. Jennifer

I love these. I don’t use the magnetic feature but I put rubber bands in them for my catchall drawer 🙂

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Great idea!

  3. Laura

I have these and like them, however they have occasionally fallen off the fridge and then the lid onlinees off, spilling the contents. I use them to hold the box tops for education box tops until I have enough to send in, so its something I can clean up fairly easily when the tin does fall, but I wouldn’t reonlinemend putting spices in them for this reason!

    • Kchast

I have them for the exact same purpose…box tops. I agree though the lid on one of mine onlinees off very easily.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh bummer! Thanks for the warning, Laura!

  4. Becky

I purchased a similar one at bed bath and beyond for my fridge. We put box tops in them and its so convenient!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Such a great idea, Becky! Thanks for the suggestion!

  5. Vicki A Daley

I love these for my classroom! I teach 1st grade and put dice in mine so when the kids roll, they don’t get lost, and the kids can still read the number through the lid.

    • KeriB

Oh I love that idea! Very clever

  6. Dorothy

Are these food safe, as they are found in the office supplies aisle?

    • Molly

I probably wouldn’t store food in them. Dollar store stuff is notorious for being made of non food safe and sometimes potentially hazardous materials.

    • Susan H

Yup same thing I thought. Not food safe so wouldn’t store any food in them myself.

  7. Holli

I got those a while back for my rv. Love them.

  8. Brian Puhalsky

Eureka!!! I have been looking for an answer to all of our spices. I really don’t want them out in the open (we have A LOT of spices) so I will get a few pieces of thin sheet metal and attach them to the inside of my cabinet doors. Easy Peasy is what I believe the saying is 😉 I’ve been looking for answers to this problem for ages but spice racks are so expensive and racking systems never seem to fit all the answers; jar sizes are too specific, only hold about 5 jars, racks don’t fit door sizes, etc. this is going to do it.

    • Suzanne

If you have the cabinet space, the spicy shelf is great! I went through the same thing with having so many spices and different sizes. It fits in the small over stove cabinet and adjusts to the length needed. I think they run about $15 at Walmart.

      • Brian Puhalsky

Hey thanks for the reply Suzanne. I did look into them, but the issue was the amount of space they took up and sizing of spice bottles again. Then I thought, I could go on Amazon and get empty like sized bottles to switch out, but that was going to be a fortune also. Plus, I could use the extra cabinet shelf. Along with too many spices, we also have too many gadgets. lol

        • Suzanne

Totally understand that!! Best of luck organizing!

      • LS

I also love the Spicy Shelf! I bought 2!

  9. Helen in Meridian

i have bought the magnetic jars at Fred Meyers, but think I paid closer to $4 each. Will try a couple and see how they onlinepare. Also my closes Dollar Tree got a huge shipment of new books. I got a coffee table sized book about World Trade Center. They had lots of new books.

  10. Amber

I love these! I put the lawn mower keys & other small keys I have in them. Box tops sound like a awesome idea 🙂

  11. amy

I bought these to put candy in the tins and added a ribbon for graduation!

  12. MommySpendsLess

That’s funny! I have a similar tin (from Ikea I think) on my fridge for BoxTops too. I was surprised to see two other people with the same item for the same purpose. Does this mean I’m not as clever as I thought? 🙂 The ones I have require two hands to open them.

  13. Shyanna Page

    How do I open them once the lid gets stuck shut?;

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! It appears the lids onlinee on and off and that the magnetic portion is on the bottom. Hoping that helps!
