Apple stores are once again hosting the very popular Apple Camp for kids ages 8-12 throughout this summer!

This free camp lasts 1 1/2 hours per day on 3 separate days and is available at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country.

Space is limited and workshops fill up quickly so head on over here and sign your kids up now – just select your state and store and you will then be able to select the week you would like to sign up for (each child is limited to no more than one Apple Camp workshop).

Note that a parent must stay with your child(ren) during Apple Camp.

We did the Coding camp last week and my 10 year old had a ball. For the parents, they had a mini workshop for us on coding as well. This week we are doing the iMovie camp and same thing, the kids started theirs and the parents made their own too. I was quite proud of how mine turned out. We are having a great time with them.

My 12 year old son did this same Camp last week and loved it. I didn’t mind waiting after half way through the first class. I got to talk to other moms and grandmas there and it was a fun time. Instructors were awesome and kids are so proud of their creations.

I signed my son and daughter up for 2 different camps ( my son did coding and my daughter did the music onlineposing ) so we went every single day for a week. I thought the staff was AMAZING with the kids and the program was really good quality. The fact that I had to stay ( with a younger child in tow ) did not bother me. The head instructor made every effort to include my in my children’s learning, asking for my feedback, providing me with a set of headphones to listen to my daughter’s music. They were at least 15 kids in each camp and I understand that it would be a big liability to Apple to keep everyone safe, and even make disciplinary decisions should they arise. The last day we took a big bag of candy and a thank you card for the whole crew.

My son went last year to 2 of the 3 classes, at age 11. A lot of the information he already knew, so he was a little bored, and he was practically the oldest one in the class too. Getting the t-shirt and the bracelet was a nice bonus though!

My daughter doesn’t turn 8 until the end of August…does anyone know if she can participate this year?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Great question Maria! Maybe call in to your location to be certain. Hope that helps!

They are very laid back – we put our 6 year old in the video making camp with his older brother (11 yr old) in the past. Not a problem at all – the staff didn’t even realize there was the age requirements. I hung out in the store during the camp just to be sure all was well – my 11 year old thought it was fun but didn’t learn anything, and it was perfect for our 6 year old! Some stuff was too tricky to learn, but still learned alot and had fun! My 11 year old tried the robot/coding camp also (same summer or last summer when he was 12?) and there were a few 6 or 7 year olds. It was too easy (he learns coding in school), so my son didn’t go back – but would be perfect if it isn’t part of your child’s school curriculum or is younger! These are great camps!

my daughter has a summer birthday and I signed her up last year before her 8th birthday. I figured that because her classmates were able to participate it would be ok. The camp counselor were ok with it

Free camp in exchange for some brainwashing! Score. Haha

  3. Shannon

I wish there was a store near me! Only in big cities 😭

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Bummer! Hoping your area gets an Apple Store soon!

  4. Nick

Hopefully the kids understand apples are overpriced and they could do better with windows in the long run!

    • Shoppingfan

If you are not a fan ofApple, MS stores also offer a camp. My son enjoyed both & now prefers Apple products in his teen years. He has experienced many things since my hubby is in IT& allows him to access MANY programs, languages, etc.

  5. may

I wish they have options in the evening…
It’s not easy that parents need to stay with other siblings who is too young to participate 🙁

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

    • Kim

Try again – my store said no camps available this morning, but I just signed up my kids this afternoon.

  8. Me

Thank you. This is the FIRST year after 3 years of trying that I was able to sign my child up. I agree with the other moms and that this is actually a “promotion” to hook the kids (and future phone users) on Apple Tech, but it should be fun and hopefully they’ll learn something useful since everything is going digital. We just have to curb the excessive usage. That said, a lot of adults can’t resist the usage/marketing either! Ha ha!

  9. Mia

Hope they have larger T-shirt. My 9 1/2 yrs old wears adult S/M.

  10. alice

hello, it’s asking me to sign into Apple ID we don’t have an Apple device do we need one?

    • me

I don’t have an Apple either. It still let me sign up with an email, password, etc. You can still sign up.

  11. DealAddict

The store near me was not listed and the next closest was all filled up. I have been trying to get into this for years and never any luck.

  16. Kareng229

My kids are 20 and 23 and way back they did most of the camps that they offered those years. I remember garage band as their favorite. My kids were so happy doing those camps and there was no pressure to buy. We are now a very faithful Apple family because we love the products.

  17. Sharon

We missed out last summer so our son is very excited that he will get to attend this year!!

  18. Amber

Also check the Microsoft store camp dates – I got my son signed up for one in July, it’s 2-hour Minecraft coding!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      So fun! Thanks for sharing!
