just an FYI, they don’t ring up $2.50 each. It’s 2/$5 OR $2.79, so they ring up
$2.79 + $2.21. My cashier took off $2.79 for the BOGO q. But YMMV (have read some cashiers are taking off $2.21) , so it cost me $1.21 b/c I also used a $1 eb, making them $0.60 each.

Thanks for the heads up, Mel!

    • Me

Mel, you are totally right about that. The cashier at my CVS is nice and will usually take off the higher amount if it’s still under the limit on the coupon, but a lot of cashiers will not!

    • s

my cashier took off the lower value of course :/

  2. kimhavelka

Mine always take the lower. So unfair

  3. Dkp91576

I have a nice lady who always takes off the “up to” price. She has given me many moneymakers. I always waste time at the register waiting for her to be available so I get her when I have these types of coupons. Hope she is there tomorrow!

  4. CJ

So you are saying that you actually get an ECB for purchasing two even though one is free with the coupon?

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Yes, you sure can! 🙂

  5. Kelly

I just got back from Target and the Heinz ketchup had buy one get one peel off coupons on them ! It’s not on sale but still good deal ! I bought 2 and got 2 free ! Cashier asked if I was having a BBQ ! 😂 We use a lot of ketchup and it doesn’t expire until 2019 so…

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Sweet!!

  6. Heather

I have to give them my phone number to be able to print that coupon?! No thanks.

    • Dkp91576

It is how they prevent fraud.

      • Heather

And how they collect customer data to sell to telemarketers.

        • Mel R.

unless you are living off the grid and paying cash for everything, your info is already out there for anyone and everyone. No matter how hard you try to keep it safe (or think you are).

  7. Myrah

I wish that when CVS has a buy 2 for $x, the register would make the 2 items the same price. I really hate how they make the 2 for $5 deal, $2.71 and $2.29. But getting Heinz ketchup for less than a $1 is an awesome deal. I can’t onlineplain to much.

BTW, Thank you Hip2save crew for all the money I have saved over the years!!!!

  8. KAREN

TELL ME….WHAT PAGE OF THEIR AD IS THIS DEAL LOCATED ON?? I DON’T SEEM TO SEE THIS??

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Karen! I find it listed on page 5 of my local ad! Hope that helps!

      • karen

THANKS AMBER!! I was overlooking it!!

        • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You’re so welonlinee! It is easy to miss! Glad you found it!

  9. Christine

I to agree I wish CVS would charge each item equally but I have a $2 EB I need to use, so either way, whether they take off the $2.79 or the $2.21 it will be a MM for me receiving the $1EB back

    • mel

that’s not a MM though. You’re using $2 eb to pay and getting $1 back, so that’s a loss. a MM is when you get MORE rewards in return than what you pay out.

      • Patty

Was thinking the same thing. You are paying with your hard earned money (albeit CVS “money”), so you’re still paying and not a MM.

Thanks for posting. Cashier took off the lower amount but oh well. It’s still a good deal!
