The oval model of the Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker has been alleged to overheat, melting the bottom of the appliance.

Is your Instant Pot about to be recalled?

Heads up, hotties! (no pun intended)

Due to alleged overheating, Instant Pot is cautioning users of its Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker oval model to stop using affected models with the following batch codes: 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734, and 1746. Customers have reported the underside of the Instant Pot getting way too hot and melting. Yikes!

Have one of these affected Instant Pots? Here’s What you should do…
  • Look for 4-digit batch code on the silver label on the bottom of the pot.
  • If you own one of the affected batch codes, stop using it immediatly.
  • Contact Instant Pot’s customer service department by emailing [email protected] or by calling 1-800-828-7280. (According to Consumer Reports, callers may receive a faster response than those emailing.)
  • At this time affected customers are being offered a replacement Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker.
Is your Instant Pot on the list? Have you reached out to the onlinepany?

I didn’t even know they made an oval shaped one. I heard about the recall this morning. What exactly is melting?

it’s their overpriced slow cooker. It isn’t a pressure cooker like the Instant Pot we’re generally used to.

They’re just trying to use the Instant Pot name to sell other stuff.

Just to clarify, I have one of the affected models and have contacted the onlinepany. They are not yet offering a replacement, they said details on how that will be handled will be onlineing soon.
