I bought the Queen in this a few weeks back when it dropped down to $187. I think around $300 is a great price still for a California King ! The mattress wasn’t soft–necessarily and that worried me the first night. I was stressed thinking I had made a mistake and bought myself a rock. Turns out, the firmness was sort of in my head and also just what I needed for my neck and back. I don’t find myself stacking up as many pillows with this mattress. I was supplementing with a knee pillow, and 4 for my head. I now just use 2 thin pillows for my head and the mattress is working great. I don’t feel nearly as stiff in the mornings or as worn down. I do notice I end up laying flat on this a lot too– my body shifts off the pillow at night so maybe it’s because the mattress is so onlinefy. It did take a night or two to get used to the sudden ‘firmness’ which isn’t hard but it doesn’t sink as quickly or as softly as my old one.
Overall, I’d definitely buy it again. I don’t use a boxspring with this one. I am debating on getting one for added elevation off the platform, but it’s been working wonderfully. I have the 12 inch deep one and with two of us on it at around a total of 300 lbs, it doesn’t sink in much at all. I can toss around and he barely notices. It’s much easier to get out of bed without rousing my partner every time. I’d give it 8 of 10 from me. I’d say he’d give it a 9 of 10.
They onlinee in flattened and packaged, or at least mine did, and I had to use a large, spare room to set up the mattress to let it rise. It took about 30 hours, but I let it go for a full 48 just to be sure before putting it on the bed. I also notice my sheets seem to stick to this better and there is less slippage and sliding off in the corners.
Give it a go for sure if you need a new mattress! My old one was 12-15 years old so this one basically saved my body and mind this Spring!
