Sent from reader, Kristin:

I was wandering around Michaels this past week and came across a 30-sheet pad of 12×12 inch gold foil scrapbook paper for $5.99! I’ve had my eye on some beautiful gold foil prints online, but wanted to finish my collage wall on the cheap.

Gold Foil from Michaels

So I found a 12×12 frame for $7.99, used a Michael’s 40% off coupon, and paid $4.79 for the frame. I put one large sheet of paper in that frame and cut another piece to go in a smaller frame I already had. I still have 28 pieces of gold foil paper left for whatever else I want to add a little glitz to – watch out house 🙂 I didn’t even need to be super crafty for this. I would have never thought to frame scrapbook paper, but I’m pleased with the results!

  5. GiulianasMom

I just got that at Michael’s this week for 5.99 and I also caught the 20% off your total purchase! Amazing! I’m not too huge a fan of my Michael’s because they only let me use one coupon per transaction (not one coupon of each type or anything like what my previous Michael’s allowed me to use) but that was a great deal! Good use for it

  6. Erica

Great idea! I love it! Did you use the foil for the “Life is an adventure” picture?

    • kjschoolfield

Yes! It’s one of the scrapbook paper pages 🙂

    • justme

I’m confused on the Life is an adventure picture. So is it just a scrapbook page that’s printed in gold that way or you made it? Explain that one in more detail? Love it!

      • kjschoolfield

It’s just a scrapbook paper page from the pad of paper. It already had the “Life is an Adventure” printed on it in gold foil. I just framed the entire 12×12 page and it was ready to go! All of the paper in that particular pad was gold foil printed 🙂

  7. Emily

Is the “life is a great adventure” a piece of the scrapbook paper? And then the smaller square under it? Thanks for sharing, such a cute idea!

    • kjschoolfield

Yep, both of them are! Thanks 🙂

  8. Amb10

Great idea! It looks super fancy

  9. Nicole

Looks great! Thanks for the wonderful idea! 🙂

  10. Allie

Love this! I was just looking on Etsy for cute prints for my baby boy’s nursery – but now I’ll go check Michaels first in case they have cute scrapbook paper I can frame instead 🙂 Thanks for the great idea!!!

    • Laurie

I have framed (and matted) pictures from wall calendars and a couple really cute cards from my baby shower to use as wall hangings in my kiddos rooms! Super cheap and super cute- you’d never know! 🙂

      • Kitty

Oh I like the idea of using baby shower cards as decoration!!!!

  11. Julie

Nice job! I like the “10years” frame too–I bet you inspired a lot of people by sharing this–really cute display.

    • kjschoolfield

Aw thanks! It was an anniversary present from my hubby a couple years (and kids!) back.

  12. Becks

Neat designs on wrapping paper also works! I’ve framed it alone or with pictures. I always get onlinepliments on it!

  13. Princess

I’m loving what you did by using the gold in this very inexpensive way. It looks so chic and expensive. I’m hoping they have something similar in silver so I can use it in my daughters room.

    • kjschoolfield

They had a silver pad too! I was debating about getting both 🙂

      • Princess

Thank you. Collin just posted about a 60% off coupon that I will use to get the silver pack.

        • kjschoolfield

Great idea! Just to let you know, I found mine pad of paper in a separate display from the scrapbook paper aisle. It had around 5 different style paper pads as well as bulk thank you notes & invitations that were all “Hot Buy” items. Hope that helps to find it in the store!

  14. A.Rich

Any ideas on where or how to find Falcon apparel for cheap? I don’t want to spend $20 a shirt for my family of 5. Thanks

    • Mel

Try Walmart, even Kmart. Sometimes you can find NFL gear a little bit cheaper than Academy. But $20 is about average price for a tee. Good luck, hoping for a good game!

      • A.Rich

Thanks, accidentally posted on the wrong thread.

  15. Vivian

    That’s so cute!!!

  16. Julia

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing

  17. kjschoolfield

Thanks, everyone, for the sweet words! Hope y’all can find some gorgeous paper to frame!

I thought the top picture in this post was just an inspiration off of Pinterest or something. Only after reading onlinements did I realize you actually made it. Wow, it looks beautiful and so chic!

  19. Rebecca M.

I want to see a wider picture of the inspiration wall. Pretty please!!

  20. Brandy

    This is a great idea

  21. G

I love this!! I need some wall ideas on the cheap so this is perfect! going to Michaels this week.

  22. Lyn C

Yes! We just sold our house and our designer who helped us stage it told us to put scrapbook paper over our family photos throughout the house. They looked amazing and it was super cheap!

  23. Stephanie

Where did you get those feather hooks?

    • kjschoolfield

      Those are from Michaels too!
