Can anyone speak to the quality of this? I would love to hear how it turns out. Seems like a great deal but I am a little skeptical of Walgreens.

    • Kaylee

I always read people raving about the Shutterfly fleece blankets. My first two I bought were the Sherpa fleece. When it arrived, I was impressed over the picture quality but not so much the quality of the blanket itself but it is better than the regular fleece. I bought two fleece for Christmas and when they arrived, I was very disappointed. It is very thin, thinner than a sweatshirt and just seems very cheap. It is by no means a warm blanket. If you are going to just throw it over the couch or hang it on the wall, I think you will be happy with it just because of the price and the pictures. But if you want a nice warm blanket, this is not it. But still, at $15 to get some nice pictures to display, you can’t really go wrong. It just really depends on what you want it for.

      • Rae

I ordered regular fleece photo throw from another onlinepany and it was also very thing and poor quality as far as being a blanket goes… So I went to JoAnns when they had the really great deal on flannel and found a solid color that worked with the colors in the blanket and I also picked up a batting roll that was crib size and used a % off coupon for that. For less than $10more and about an hour of time the $20 fleece photo blanket turned into a really nice photo throw quilt.

      • Terra

I ordered one for my husband for Father’s Day, and then sewed a nice warm layer of the mink fabric on the back, so it was double layered and warm.

        • Mary

Hi,i need to know where and what type of material is your husband’s blanket.
Because i am affraid the fleece throw is very thin.
          I appreciate hour help.
          Thank you,

          Mary.

          Thank you.

    • Cyndee

they are thin, and they are $15!

    • keri

JUNK! not worth $15 I am returning it, I am embarrassed to give it to my mom

  2. Patty

Has anyone ordered this before? If do can you onlinement on the quality? My granddaughter that will be turning one Loves looking at pictures and I was thinking she will enjoy this. Thank You in advance for you time. 😍

  3. laureen

One of my friends made one with pictures of her kids and dog. The pictures came out clear and the blanket is thin. The material is ok not itchy or weird l

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the helpful review!

  4. ally

Also interested … Ive ordered the one from shutterfly which turned out to be super soft …but im wondering if it would be the same quality.

  5. Allison

    Very very thin!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry to hear how thin they are! Thanks for the honest feedback!

  6. Burrsyb

I just ordered two! I would never pay retail for these. The photos came out great but I wouldn’t call it fleece. I wouldn’t considered this a winter blanket but more of a summer throw or something to lay on at the beach.

    • Terra

I bought some nice warm mink fabric from Walmart, and sewed another layer on mine. Nice and warm now

  7. Holly

Yes I work at Walgreens and unfortunately these are not great quality.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh bummer! 🙁 Sorry to hear that you do not care for the quality. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Julie

So hoping to read more reviews… this seems like a great gift for my 94 year old grandmother, recently moved into assisted living.

    • Jennie

I just bought this for our grandma’s 94th birthday in March. She is going to LOVE all 30 pics of our family 😍

    • Cyndee

For $15 I bet she would love it!

  9. Gina

I can’t get the link to work. Am I the only one? I logged in but the link is disappearing from the page. If anyone has advice please help. I want to order this for my parents

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How odd, are you able to try it in a different browser?

  10. trin

thank you so much-just made a tie dye blanket for my sons birthday 😉

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What an awesome gift! You’re welonlinee Trin! Happy Birthday to your son! 😀

  11. Laura

How does the quality onlinepare to the photo blanket from Shutterfly?

  12. Kala

I’m being charged shipping! Anyone have a reason why that might be happening?

    Thanks in advance!

    • KP

SAME HERE. I’M BEING CHARGED SHIPPING AS WELL

      • Angie (Sweet Sidekick)

Hi KP! The shipping charges are reduced to $0 in the final stages of checkout. You may need to go a little further in the checkout process to see the discount.

        • KP

          thanks, that was it

    • Angie (Sweet Sidekick)

Hi Kala! The shipping charges onlinee off in the final stages of checkout. You may want to try going a little further in the checkout process?!

  13. Sally

Just an idea, use photos of children’s artwork, or black and white sketches. $15 seems like is a good deal for a personalized item like this.

  14. Candace

Love the idea of using kids artwork! My little guy just ran off to draw his picture so we can do that. Thank you for that suggestion, Sally!

  15. Pamela

I ordered one for my mom last year to take to her chemo appointments. I was so excited. After I opened it , I was a bit sad and dissappointed it was so thin. I gave it to her anyway for Christmas and she loved it. I told her eventually I would make it into a thicker quilt.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry to hear it was thinner than expected but happy she enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing!

  16. Pamela

One more thing. I paid closer to full price for it. I think it’s a good deal at $15.00. It is a neat way to share memories.

  17. Nicole

I just ordered this! Thank you for sharing. This is a perfect gift for my Dad’s birthday onlineing up in March. I paid $1.05 in tax so my total came to $16.05! What a steal!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! You’re welonlinee Nicole!

  18. mbertra1

Curious if anyone knows this, but would it be possible to use this to create one of those ties fleece blankets. The ones where all the ends are tied? That way it would be thicker but still be personalized? Just wondering if maybe the pictures wouldn’t be too close to the edge if it could be done. Feedback please?

    • Rebecca

Just looking at the pictures, they look very close to the edge, I don’t think it’d work.

    • Rae

The photos are close but what i did was use a roll of crib batting and flannel and made a quilt with this as the top. I told the flannel over the top edge and kind of framed it that way and then tracked all over the quilt it with matching embroidery floss. It came out very cute!

      • Rae

Rolled** the flannel over the top edge

      • mbertra1

Oh that is a great idea! Thank you for sharing!

    • Lexy

You can also simply add large borders to the photos that will be on the edge to get extra space without getting rid of the Photos

      • mbertra1

Good idea…..I won’t have to p to upload anyway so that will work too!

    • K

im making the blanket now and there is a border size option: Thin, Med, Thick. its located on the screen under color choices. hope this is helpful.

  19. Kathleen

Just ordered 2. One for each grandchild. Total just over $30 shipped. Thanks for posting deal. Can’t wait to receive them.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW!

  20. Tammy

Mine is onlineing up with 5.99 shipping after I use the code. Am I missing something?

    • Misty

See above. Two others had the same problem.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! You may need to head further through the checkout process to see the shipping reduced to $0. Hope this helps!

  21. Jodi

I’ve been thinking about making a fidget for my grandma with dementia. This seems like a great way to incorporate photos.

    • Julie

Jodi! Can you tell me more about your project? My grandma has dementia too.

  22. jan

I am thinking of taking photos of my high school senior’s tshirts from childhood, baseball, scouts, etc and making a memory blanket. I do not quilt and have long wanted to make a t shirt quilt, but they are so pricey.

    • Elle

      Jan, that’s a great idea!

    • Jacy

Jan- Have you looked at Projectrepat.online? You can get coupons from them for up to 30% off which makes it really affordable. I did at-shirt blanket through them about a year ago and I am SO happy with it!! Check it out! 🙂 I’ll even look in my emails and see if I have a code for them right now 🙂

  23. Tracee

I’m not a big crafter but I’m wondering if you buy some extra fleece material and fabric glue, you may be able to thicken the blanket pretty cheap.

  24. Dee

Thank you for this post !! I’m ordering more as a gag gift given the pics are inside jokes. This is a great price for the gift!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welonlinee!

  25. Ann

Anyone know when this deal expires?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      • Shoni G Landis

  26. paula

Thank you! I really did not know what to get my husband for Valentine day, especially with him being over seas on his 6th tour. I am going to give this with all the kids pictures. It is PERFECT!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  28. suzann

Perfect for my 4 year old grandson. Just took him to a life like dinosaur puppet show that he loved and made him a blanket with some of his favs on it. He will love covering up with T Rex!

  29. A.Gold

Was looking for ideas for a surprise 50h birthday party decorations. Pulled baby, family and childhood pictures from my friend’s Facebook pages. Will be great to hang up at the party instead of individually framed pictures. (and less expensive).

    • Heather F

      Great idea!

  30. A.Gold

Does anyone have an opinion if it looks better with or without a border? If you opt for a border does each picture have one or only the edges?

  31. Sherry Marie Lewis

Thank you,Collin! I ordered two.One for each of my girls for Valentine’s Day.My Husband passed away 5 1/2 years ago and I made a blanket with His pictures and the title “My Daddy Is My Guardian Angel”.I’ve wanted to do this for a while, but couldn’t afford over $100.00 for 2.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  32. Kathy

I can get the site to load photos from my onlineputer or my phone today ~ so bummed!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Are you able to try it in a different browser?

  33. Nicole

Is the date the deal is good through correct? It will be valid until 2/18 ?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yes! Good through 2/18 🙂

      • Bre

Went to use today,1/22 and it says it is expired

        • Shoni G Landis

          same problem here

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Thanks for letting us know! 🙁

        • Vickie

I put hours in getting it all ready to order as I had to go through 16 years worth of photos and such. I went to put the code in tonight to order it and it’s expired. i contacted Walgreens via online chat and they said it expired yesterday. I told them it wasn’t fair and he says he will forward our chat to his supervisor tomorrow. I will call tomorrow and keep following up until I get to use the code or feel there’s nothing more I can do. I probably invest 5+ hours working on this project for our out of state granddaughters.

  34. Sarah Mullinax

Does anyone know about how long it will take to get the blanket after ordering?

    • Lexy

standard 3-5 days (According to the website)

  35. Dori

Thank you Just placed my order

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welonlinee!

  36. Karen

If your iffy about this deal their is also another deal at Walgreens for 150 4×6 prints for only 11.99, that makes each photo cost 8 cents. Or 50 4×6 prints for 5.99 which makes each photo 12 cents.

  37. Johnna

I either ordered one for myself, or I may give to the hubby for Valentines Day! LOL, I gave several of these as gifts for Christmas, or they would of made great gifts for uponlineing Birthdays for my mother, and mother in law. I think I may order another for my grandmother though, and put up for mothers day, or even Christmas 2017.

  38. Lori

Are the pics on both sides of the blanket?

  39. thecookiegal

Thanks! Ordered one for my sister, and one for each of my daughters. Even though they aren’t thick and warm, I am sure they will still love them!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welonlinee!

  40. Courtney

Is anyone having trouble continuing to the next page after uploading photos?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Are you by chance on a mobile device? If not, maybe try it in a different browser. Hope this helps!

      • Courtney

The different browser worked! Thank you! I would have never thought of that! 🙂

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          Yay! You’re so welonlinee!

  41. Sandra

The blanket arrived today and it’s definitely not thick by any means (like a very thin towel material), but I know my husband will love all the photos of him and our daughter for his birthday! The photos came out fantastic.

  42. Bre

Went to do this deal…all deal sites say it expires on 2/18. Walgreens says it expired 1/21:(

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Thanks for the heads up!

    • Lisha

Thanks. I left this offer up in browser so that I can take advantage of promo once I gather up photos. Thx 4 letting us know.

      Collin,
Thx for all you and your crew do.

    • Amy Stotts

Oh, doggonit! I was hoping to do this for my mom for her b-day. Years ago, I had a best friend that I met during my pregnancy- she lived in Canada. She hand made a blanket with my son’s baby pictures and some pictures of me and him together. It is still unfinished on the edges because she wanted to get it to me when we met in Canada…she said she’d finish it. Unfortunately, she had an aneurism and is no longer functioning well…very very sad- not because of the blanket, but it just brought back fond memories. Sorry to bore anyone who read this! :)D

  43. Vickie

BIG BUMMER! I just spent hours on this project; going through about 10 years of photos, picking out photos, editing them and then finding out in the end that the code is expired.

    • Vickie

I have contacted customer service via online chat and I will follow up with an email and a phone call tomorrow. I put too much time and effort into this to just let it go that easy. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get some answers and I’m praying they will honor the code.

  44. sandy

I hope walgreens will honor this . I also just got the photos together for this . I appreciate all you do !

    • Vickie

I’ve dealt with Walgreens via online help, by phone and by email and they say they won’t honor it. They will give me credits and codes for other things but not this. They said they have the right to expire the codes at any time which means we can all put time and effort into these kind of projects and gifts and then go to order it and find out it’s no good anymore. I want to let you all know and everyone know about this and I’m not planning to do my business with Walgreens anymore. I love photo projects and photos are important to me but so is my time and if they aren’t going to give us any advance warning that they are expiring the code, it’s a waste of all of our time to work with them. It’s very poor customer service from my perspective. There are plenty of other onlinepanies that won’t do this.

  45. Kimberly Harris

i did the same, spent hours on project and it would not take code. missed this one but maybe next time.

  46. K. Marie

I have ordered these blankets from other places and they were an actual blanket. This is too thin and small to be a blanket. It is not even worth $15. Incredibly disappointing.

  47. thecookiegal

got one made for my 2 kids, aunt, sister and mother. Thought I would do another for us (as a wall hanging which is what my mom and sister are doing) But, the blanket doesn’t even onlinee up as an option anymore! =( Maybe they had an end run of that fleece and that is why it was such a good deal? Oh well……next deal!

  48. Tara

Was the expiration date a typo? I thought we had until 2/18. 🙁

    • Vickie

The expiration date wasn’t a typo. They said it says in the small print that they can change the date anytime they want. That means you can spend many hours (like I did) going through photos and getting it all made up and then find out they pulled the sale off. No fun and I don’t plan on ever using Walgreens for something like that again. My time is too valuable.
