I wanted to share an idea for reusing a Hershey’s sundae syrup jar. The syrup jar was glass and with the Hershey name being on the lid, I thought just throwing some Hershey’s candies in the jar would be cute….miniatures, kisses, mini bars, etc. There are probably tons of other containers that we can re-purpose if we look around in our pantry. Think of a mailman, neighbor, bus driver, drive-thru worker, etc. just to be nice and give them a “happy.”

    I made several of these jars years ago for the forgotten staff at the elementary school.Some I filled with chocolates,some with flavored tea bags or cocoa and marshmallows.Topped with a ribbon and homemade tag they were very much appreciated.Wonderful idea!

    I bought a bunch of Contigo water bottles on clearance and need ideas what I can put inside for teacher gifts. Would like ideas that are not chocolate related. Any ideas? Love these Hershey ones!

      Where were they on clearance? How much and type? I wanted to give out the non spill coffee cups. I know everyone says teachers don’t want another mug but there’s are no spill! Lol

          They were $3.00 and had wide mouth and smaller mouth water bottles as well as the shaker cups with the wire thing inside.

      Teachers would also appreciate the little hand sanitizers from Bath & Body works as an idea. I can never keep my hands clean enough. There are so many germs at school!

      My kids teachers are getting Burger King gift cards from the dollar general deal. Theres a BK right by the school even. I figure they all get so much candy and chocolates that it would be a fun variation.

      I’d put various drink mixes . The single serving kind …. lemonade, tea, mio etc…..If it was for summer or a warm weather area I’d put chapstick and sunscreen . If you really want to up the gift giving add a national park pass or some other outdoor adventure type item where a water bottle is typically used . Headbands and pony tail elastics are useful for the exercise girly.

    Hi Renay – you can fill them with bath n body travel size lotions, bath gel and hand sanitizer. Lip balm, gum, mints. A lot of this stuff you can get free or cheap.

    Fill the contigo bottles with a variety of the flavored drink packets. The teacher can use them in the gift!

    I usually buy cute jars or other Christmas containers at garage sales throughout the year. I then wash them really well and reuse them for Christmas or birthday gifts throughout the year as you described. I like filling them with candy, cookies or other treats. Good post- thanks for sharing.

    We have an awesome UPS driver and I’d like to give her a gift for Christmas. Any ideas? I didn’t know if they could except bake goods or gift cards for coffee or something like that.

      I would give just a visa or target gift card or a gas card is always good too. Unless you know the person well your baked goods may get trashed. A lot of people don’t want to eat something when they don’t know the conditions of the kitchen it came from.

    Cute idea! I reuse most jars for a variety of things at home since most are pasta sauce or pickle jars. I guess I can get these, with ice cream 😉

    One year I saved all my tomato sauce jars there’s one brand that uses mason jars I forget which one. And then I removed the label cleaned up the jar and lid then spray painted the lid red and filled the jar with dry soup layers and cookie layers. I added a cute ribbon and tag. It was a very inexpensive way to do many gifts when money was tight.

    I did this and I was so proud of myself. I bought the hershey hot fudge sauce last week and we used it on warm brownies with ice cream as a desert for dinner one night. I washed the jar and filled it with the holiday hershey kisses that you can get at CVS. I purchased those at the CVS black friday sale. I gave the jar of candy to my secret pal today. Great idea! I love hip2save! Thank you for all of the deals, recipes, and craft ideas!
