Walgreens EveryDay Points: Thru 12/31/17, you can earn 10 points for every $1 spent (100 points = 10¢). Just go here to add this perk to your Balance Rewards Card. Plus, in addition to EveryDay Points, you can earn Bonus Points on featured items.

Walgreens is now also allowing you to earn AND redeem Balance Rewards points in the same transaction on unit offers (unit offer examples: Buy 2, get back 5,000 Balance Rewards Points or Buy 1, get back 2,000 Balance Rewards Points etc). Keep in mind, you will still not be able to earn points if you use points to pay for a threshold offer (for example spend $30, get 10,000 Balance Rewards Points back). Okay so this might be a silly question, but from reading the coupon newbie page I know SS means “SmartSource Inserts”, but where do I get these?? Is the only way to get it to get a Sunday newspaper? Would this be my local paper? Thanks.

Yes, these would be on your Sunday papers (smart source & redplum). There is alsó SmartSource.online and redplum.online for Döme of the printables of three onlinepanues. Three Two websites would only print from internet explorer / Firefox. They typically won’t print from a mobile device. However SmartSource has an app now too for your phone which would allow you to print wirelessly. Typically 2 copies per device ( onlineputer, phone, etc) are allowed. There are onlinepanies that sale coupons / inserts as well. They claim that you are paying for their clipping service and that the coupons are for free as sale of coupons is prohibited by law. There are also regional variations some states / regions get more /less or slightly different coupons than others

Where I live, in the People’s Republic of PDX, we can call our local fish wrapper and they will deliver, for free, a paper called the “Food Day” that contains store ads and the coupon booklets. One can pickup the “Food Day” at some of the library branches. Also, we get a weekly mailer called “Red Plum” that has store ads and coupon booklets. Don’t remember how I signed up for it. Unfortunately, the coupon booklets are regional and one section of town doesn’t get the same coupons as another section.

Yes 2 different times I tried the ludens coupon and with the card it will not work. It may have worked the first time by scanning coupon, but 2nd time they pushed it through eventually. They did not seem happy about it though at that location. May have to get one more bag next week as we are all getting sick right now.

I’m back after a few years being out of the game. I have two questions:
1. If I use Balance Reward points to pay for a deal that I should get a RR back on will I get the RR? and vice versa?

2. The digital coupons clipped to the balance reward card…are they only one per transaction? Today i bought 2 HE and 2 Aussie wanting to use the $4/2 on both. It did not work. The cashier voided and told me that it is only one digital coupon per transaction. Just making sure before I do a bigger order with more than one digital coupon.

1. Yes, you can use BR points to pay, and then get RR back. And vice versa. Just remember when using RR that it acts like a manufacturer coupon and Walgreens requires 1 coupon to one item. i.e. if you have 4 items, you can only use 4 manufacturer coupons, including any RR you’re trying to use. (it’s unfair because the RR should just apply to the “basket” or whole transaction, but that’s how it is.)
2. Apparently the digital manufacturer Walgreens coupons are notoriously glitchy and don’t always work, as I’ve learned from reading people’s onlinements here. But I would assume the digital manufacturer coupons would work just like paper manufacturer coupons – one coupon per item. So if you have a $4/2 Herbal essences coupon loaded to card, it should work if you buy 2 HE. and then if you have a $1 Colgate coupon loaded, it should also work if you buy 1 Colgate. But that single $1 Colgate manufacturer coupon would not apply to each of 2 toothpastes, so it wouldn’t take off $2, because that’s not how manufacturer coupons ever work. You need a separate coupon for each item. They are one-time use. But I would assume that if you buy different items and you have a digital coupon for each, then you can use multiple different digital manufacturer coupons in the same transaction. (like my example of using Colgate and HE). Maybe someone else will reply and confirm this.
3. I’d suggest you google “walgreens coupon policy” and read their updated info. Get it straight from their website so you’re set as you start shopping there again. There’s also probably something on their website about their digital load-to-card coupons.

Thank you Juju. I’m going to have to figure out teh glitches with the digital. My transaction was 2 Herbal Essence hairspray 2/$5 and 2 Aussie hairspray 2/$5. Each of these brands had a $4/2 digital coupon I loaded on my card. When I gave my card it only deducted 1 of the $4 coupons. That’s when the cashier told me that I had to pay for them separate to work. I was hoping I did not have to have a transaction for each coupon I “clipped” so I’m glad to know they are glitchy, i’ll just have to pay close attention until they fix it. THANKS AGAIN!!

Idea for the digital coupon glitches – I read this tip on another H2S reader’s onlinement – when I went to use a digital coupon, I had them scan my Balance Rewards card (not typing in my phone number) AND I opened my Walgreens app in the store and clicked on the screen for my clipped coupons, there’s a barcode on that screen in the app – then I had the cashier scan that barcode on my phone, too. The coupon worked. But I don’t know if that mattered.

The CVS near me had a sign saying the Ludeen’s cough drops coupon was only for the 90 count. Did anyone else find this?

I haven’t been to the store yet, but my digital coupon says it’s valid for 25 to 90 ct bags.

RE: Luden’s deal – my Walgreen’s had a printed sign hanging by the product that the coupon didn’t specify the size, and it should only apply to 90 ct size. 🙁

I purchased 2 huggies diapers and 1 pull-ups and did not recieve the $5RR. I asked the cashier, he looked in the ad and on his onlineputer and said he couldn’t find and RR attached to the Huggies. Where does it say there should be a $5RR?

The $.75 printable for Frosted Mini-Wheats is not a match and can’t be used unfortunately. It is only valid on 14 oz. and larger.

Just a heads up to anyone wanting to purchases 2 Ajax Dish Liquid 28oz $2.79 each
Total After B1G1 Free Sale = $2.79. Keep an eye on your receipt because they are NOT ringing up B1G1 Free so you will have to have a manager override your transaction since it is printed in the ad. At least that was the case for me here in Sacramento, CA.

I feel like I must make a onlinement on my Walgreens…they are great! We recently moved to this area and this is a new store for me. No matter what the problem (and using coupons/RR/etc sometimes does not go smoothly!), the manager on duty is ALWAYS willing to fix it…and apologzse for the inconvenience/trouble that I have had! Today he even gave me extra Reward Savings on my account because of the mess-up! I have shopped at Walgreens for a long time…and NEVER have I had a manager offer to do that! Maybe it is the smaller town attitude (this is the only Walgreens in town) or maybe living in the Midwest…but know that there ARE Walgreens out there that make your shopping & using coupons a rewarding experience!

I agree sometimes the manager or employee try to get the coupons to work and be helpful, but 80% of the time, the checkout process does not go smoothly. We shouldn’t have to default to overrides or manager approvals everytime. When is corporate going to fix the system.

I totally agree with Lel! I just went today and the head and shoulders coupon did not onlinee off my purchase. 3 employees later, the manager just adjusted the price. No one knew about the clipped coupons at all. I won’t use them again since I don’t need to argue to save money that I know was a valid coupon. I contacted corporate , but I’m sure I’ll get a non-answer answer. I’ll stick to CVS as they always get it right!
