  These bags measure 20 ½” W x 12″ H x 10 ¾” D with 9″ strap drop and 52″ removable, adjustable strap. The small duffle bags measure 18½” W x 9½” H x 9½” D
 with a 15″ strap drop on the Vera Bradley site.

  These are discontinued designs sold directly from Vera Bradley. I have purchased from them quite a few times. All items are genuine. Think of it as how VB clearances out old styles.

   I buy from the Vera Bradley eBay store all the time. They are not fake. You may be getting a pattern that may be retired. Their shipping is free. My recent purchase was a campus backpack originally priced $109.00 and I got it for $49.99 with an additional 25% off on backpacks (not sure if that promotion is still going on. The pattern I bought it in is called Lucky Dots and I believe it is retired however, it is MY favorite pattern.

  Probably any number of things–the size, the quality, the pattern, the durability, the onlinefort when carrying it while fully loaded, the ease of getting it into carry-on spaces on a flight, etc. Just spit-balling here; I don’t actually own it. But I’d imagine that any variable that makes you like anything you own would be a variable that might make someone else highly rate something they own, too.

  I’ve had a VB duffle for years and it has held up wonderfully. No cheap zippers or seams, it is well constructed. The fabric makes it washable. Always cute styles. Good size.

  I agree, I don’t like the handles so I passed on this one. Last summer I purchased a different bag (weekender type bag, unsure of the name) and I love it! I hope they redesign the duffle handles!
