Britax Infant Car Seat Handle Recall (Nearly 71,000 Car Seats Are Affected)
Do you own a Britax infant car set?
Britax just announced that it is recalling nearly 71,000 infant car seats. Apparently, a defect within the carry handle exists in certain B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite infant car seat models – the affected seats were manufactured between October 1, 2014 and July 1, 2015. Click HERE to see if your Britax product is included in this recall and then follow the directions to request your Carry Handle Remedy Kit.
If you do indeed own one of these affected seats, do NOT return product to the retailer – the seat is still safe to use when secured in a vehicle or on a Britax stroller but do NOT lift or carry the car seat by the handle until you receive the remedy kit and it has been installed. For more information, contact the Britax Customer Service Department at the dedicated recall line 1-800-683-2045 (note that due to inclement weather associated with Winter Storm Jonas, the Customer Service Department at Britax headquarters is closed today, January 22nd) or e-mail [email protected]. Check out the Britax Facebook page for more information.
(Thanks, Kathryn!)
