Duct Tape Pencil Pouches (Easy Back to School Craft)
Looking for an easy back to school craft to do with the kiddos? Try making these simple pencil pouches with duct tape and Ziploc bags that are super handy for small school supplies! Duct tape is such a fun craft material especially now that it onlinees in so many creative patterns and colors.
Materials needed:
- Quart sized Ziploc bags with the slider
- Duct tape in various colors or patterns
- Scissors
- Ruler or craft mat
- Sharpie
- Small electrical tape (optional)
Directions:
- Measure about two inches from the bottom of bag and draw a line across the bag with a Sharpie.
- Using the line as a guide, cut your bag with scissors.
- Start from the top and cover bag with a strip of tape a little longer than bag and fold over ends. Overlap the next piece of tape about 1/8 of an inch. The 3rd strip you can fold over the bottom of the bag, and finish with two more strips up the back of bag.
- You can stop here or embellish with another color and or stickers to personalize.
- I decided to use a thin red electrical tape on the sides of this bag and created a little clear side pouch for a student I.D or name card.
- To do this, just cut out a credit card sized piece of plastic from another plastic bag. I folded a piece of tape around one edge of the plastic and then taped down the sides and bottom to the side of the pouch.
I love that these Pencil Pouches take just a few minutes to create and turn out so cute! These pouches can also be used to keep crayons or cosmetics in your purse and are great to stash your cell phone and belongings in at the beach or lake.
