I went to Staples last week and bought Zebra mechanical pencils which were $4. When i got to the register the lady accepted my $2 manufactured coupon, but had to ask the manager how to use the $5 off $30 coupon and the manager told me that Staples is no longer taking any manufactured coupons that aren’t the originals. I had printed this coupon off of the internet, but by all means was this a copied coupon. He said that unless is onlinees out of a sunday paper or in the mail, they will not accept the manufactured coupon. Is anyone else getting this from their staples. This was in Oregon, about 70 miles of of Portland. CRAZY!!!!!

    • Sara

I have always had trouble with mq’s at Staples. They have to enter it manually and it always takes more time that it is worth! So I only do deals that do not require mq’s.

To be honest, when it onlinees to Staples, I almost always have something go wrong or something takes longer than it should. The deals keep me onlineing back but without them I would never go back.

      • noelchav

so hearing that i’m not the only one having problems with manu. coupons at staples makes me feel better. I’m not going to fuss with them anymore. thanks again

  2. angeline saby

there is also a $1.00/2 bic stationery products….sooo freeee on todays paper

  3. VP

For the recyle your binder get $2 back, can you recyle a binder and then buy the one for $1 that you have listed at top. Wouldn’t that be a $1 money maker??

    • Sandy

sadly no. it’s actually that you get $2 off any binder. so basically, it’s free!

      • Marissa

can you get 2 binders and they both be free?

    • milly

My Staples did not allow me to recycle my old binder and get the $1 binder on sale for free. The employee said that it it only works for regularly-priced binders. I’ll call the CS tom to verify.

  4. Heather

buy 4 packs of the Bic pencils (25 cents each) = $1
use $1/2 Bic stationery products = free!!

  5. Trinity

Where is the bic coupon from? TIA

  6. Janie

Bic stationery product $1/1 7/29 SS Insert

  7. Marissa

    YAY for staples!

  8. Brittany

Question: When I buy the ream of paper for $6.99 and use my back to school savings pass for 15% off do I get the full $5.99 rebate back? Or less because I got a discount by using the pass. Thanks! 🙂

    • Kristy

My rebate is currently processing for 4.94 when I used my savings pass. HTH!

  9. milliy

Is there a printable coupon for the prang chalks? I thought Collin posted one last week? I could be wrong, though.

  10. Amy

I’m still a little confused on the extreme deals. I just need to spend $5, by buying the multipurpose paper at $6.99 for instance, and then I can get 2 each of the 4 extreme deal items (8 total) at their listed prices?

    • ali

Yes, just have them ring up the paper first so your total is over $5, then scan 2 of each of the extreme deals and they will ring at a penny each. Go home, submit your paper rebate, and your total will only have been $1.08 for everything!

      • ali

Oops, there are only 3 penny deals, so it would be $1.06, not $1.08. (or $3.06 if you got the paper, penny deals and 2 of the dollar binders).

    • Emily

On the ad, the pocket tissue, that is 1 cent, said limit 6. So say I spend 5 dollars, can I get 6 of the tissues for 6 cents? Or can I only get two?

      • Emilee

The limit is 6 so you can get 6.

  11. Danielle

With the paper rebates, I’m always wondering. How often can you do those? I did it two weeks ago when there was a limit two. Is this considered the same offer? Or is it a new one?

    • Vans

Wondering the exact same thing! Anyone know??

      • ali

Each new ad is a new offer, so they rebate number on your receipt will be different each time. I have done the paper deal every time it is available and have received my rebate back each time. HTH!

        • Vans

          THanks for responding!

          • Julie

thanks, i was wondering the same thing!!

        • Patti

Yes, thank you? I was going to ask the same question.

          • Patti

            I meant thank you!!

    • MaryBeth

I am pretty sure it is a new offer each week, but it would be worth asking before you’re out the money.

  12. Sarah

I did a rebarte on the paper 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know if I can do this rebate now?

  13. Nicole Prucha

Anybody know the limit on the rebates for the multipurpose paper and the copy paper?

    • Nicole

Had an idea for a shopping trip if the limit is of each rebate is 2:

      Staples Multipurpose Paper (2) @ 6.99 each = 13.98
      Staples Photo Paper (2) @ 14.99 each = 29.98
      Bic Pencils (4) @ 0.25 = 1.00
      Chalk (4) @ 0.25 = 1.00
      Rose Art Crayons (4) @ 0.50 = 2.00
      Avery Durable Binder (2) @ 1.00 = 2.00
      Paper Clips (2) @ 0.01 = 0.02
      Folder (2) @ 0.01 = 0.02
      Pocket Tissues (2) @ 0.01 = 0.02

      Total = 50.02
      Use $5.00 off $50.00 purchase
      Use Bic Stationary Coupon -$1.00
      Rose Art Coupon -$1.00
      Binder Coupon -$1.00
      Binder Coupon -$1.00

      Pay $41.02
      Submit for rebates $39.96
      Like getting everything for $1.06

      • Susan

Impressive, please let us know how it goes.

      • vergin

where did u find the $5.00 off $50.00 purchase coupon.
        Thankyou

      • Rach

Hi Nicole. What $1 binder coupon are you referring to?

  14. Latasha

Last week I bought the frixion 3 pack pens for $5 (got blue and black ink so I spent $10)…. does staples offer adjustments like Target or other places do If the item you bought goes on sale within 14 days? If so, I will use the money back to pick up more of these pens because they are awesome!

    • Caroline

They do adjustments! I bought the pencil containers a few weeks ago at $1, the. They adjusted to the $0.50 sale the following week…I think it’s a 7 day rule?

  15. Brittany

Don’t know if this is for everyone but my ad says the 1 cent folders are a limit of 10 and the 1 cent tissue is a limit of 6. The paper clips are still the usually limit of 2.

    • Bobbi

My ad says the same thing.

    • Heather

Same for my ad – it states that in store on the sale tags as well

  16. Alisha

I went to Staples this morning and purchased

    4 Bic Mechanical Pencils $.25 so $1.00
    12 Rose Art 24 ct Crayons 2/$1.00 so $6.00
    10 Folders $0.01 or $0.10 cents
    6 Pocket Tissues $0.01 or $0.06 cents
    2 100 ct Paper Clips $0.01 or $0.02 cents

    Subtotal $7.18

used 1 $1/2 Bic product coupon
used 4 $1/3 Rose Art coupon

Final Total after tax was $2.75

  17. Bonnie

I’m confused if I want to price match at Walmart…Can I take the ad in and price match the 1 cent folders without spending $5? Or will they not price match the extreme deals? And since it states limit of 10, I can only get 10? Or will they let me do a couple transactions and get more?
Staples sounds awesome with the deals you can get, but the rebates, etc scare me, so price matching seems like it would be easier. Thanks for any help! 🙂

    • Susan

The rebate is so easy and you can put the rebate into paypal.

    • Michelle

Honestly no one can answer your Walmart questions, because it varies from store to store. However, the Walmart coupon policy say it does not match prices that require a separate purchase, which I would consider the $5 minimum to be. So by the policy Walmart wouldn’t match the penny deals, but I know that some Walmarts do.

Staples rebates are really easy, but they do take 4-6 weeks to arrive in the mail. I don’t know how long the paypal option takes. I’ve never had to call and ask where my rebate was or anything.

    • Emilee

The rebates really are not scary, I did my first one online last week. It was very easy!

  18. Marissa

CLIPBOARD question. Anyone know where i can get CHEAP clipboards to turn into a chalkboard for kids craft at my family reunion onlineing up?
    THANKS!

    • Karin

      Dollar Store, 99 cents store

  19. mom

FYI…I got the 15% off back to school card so whenever I shop from now to Sept you get 15% off all supples…but they take that off the penny items which makes them free at the checkout…my donation bin is full of free items 🙂

  20. misty

Does anyone know if you can load money onto your rebate card? I am always scared to use my cc info on some sites, so I wanted to get a prepaid card and just keep loading on money. Does anyone know if that will work, or if I will have activation fees etc.TIA!

  21. Rachel Warren

today on the phone the cs guy said i could bring the online price of binders for $2.79 and they may price match that and if i do the $2 recycle binder they’d be $.79 each + tax. has anyone done this with success…i might try. otherwise he said the cheapest is their 2 for $12 deal and that’s no deal for me, that’s $4 + tax for a binder and there are so many better deals out there than that.
