UPDATE: Please read the onlinements before heading on over to your OfficeMax, as it appears that lots of you are stating that the markers highlighted in the post below are actually not ringing up on sale 2/$5. 🙁

Wow! In addition to this week’s OfficeMax Back to School deals I posted about here, I want to give you a heads up on a *HOT* deal you can score on Prang Markers! You see, OfficeMax has all Prang Art Supplies advertised in the weekly ad on sale 2/$5. Well, the 48 count pack of Prang Classic Art Markers ARE included in the 2 for $5 sale, which is a steal considering these are regularly priced at $17.99! What a *HOT* deal!

Also, the 96 count pack of Prang Skinny Style Markers are ringing up 2/$5 as well and normally retail for $14.99 per pack… so another awesome buy!

Who in their right mind would spend $18 on markers to begin with? Especially a cheaper brand…

    • Diana

People that are ARTISTS spend that type of money on markers- these arent meant for your 5 yr olds-

    • Abby

heads up Prand is NOT a cheaper brand. This is a very high end brand of marker.

    • shanshan

Only the name sounds like cheap brand. Product is not cheap. LOL!

  2. AMY

Does Walmart sell this brand? I never shop here but would love to price match it at Walmart.

  3. Amber

I saw these this morning at my OfficeMax in the St. Louis area- but the sign advertising 2 for $5 on that brand of markers specifically said that the marker tubs were excluded. So it might not be included at every OfficeMax, just as a warning.

    • Corinne Char

I just went to office max to try (in St. Louis) and had them do a price check and all and they said no. It is frustrating because the 96 count tub is IN THE IN AD PICTURE but it doesn’t count.

  4. KC

Looks like this must be an in-store only deal, I could not find them on the website.

  5. kris

Did you do this deal? The sign says excludes tubs and the tubs rang up $17.99.

    • Abby

I did do this deal and they rang up $17.99. My store didn’t even question it and adjusted the price. Plus if you look at the ad it shows a picture of the 96 count markers included in the sale.

  6. Natalia

I ran out the door to try this deal since the store is so close but the tubs are NOT included! They ring up at regular price even if you buy two. (in Minnesota)

  7. Cristina

It is not ringing up in KC.

  8. Angelia

The photo shows the 96ct and the writing says products up to $17.99 so I was able to do this deal in AK.

96ct thin Prang Markers, 48ct thick Prang Markers 2/$5
    3 10ct Dixon Pencils .10ea
2 pencil sharpners FREE (w/$5 min pur)
2 24ct store brand crayons FREE (w/$5 min pur)
2 wood rulers FREE (w/$5 min pur)
    5 100ct filler paper .50ea
    2pk kleenex $3 (-.50 cpn)
    = $10.30 on a GC I bought through PlasticJungle 7%off so actually $9.58

  9. Felicia

I am going to try this deal tomorrow. I think this is fantastic. Thanks Angelia for sharing your Deal Idea with us. This looks like one I might try to mirror exactly!!!

Just tried in St. Louis office max and they said no despite the 96 count being in the picture 🙁

This is kind of a touchy deal. I too saw these and tried to purchase them at 2/$5 based on the signage at the store. They rang up full price ($17.99 & $14.99), so I took a manager to show them the clear signage in front of them and they overrode the price (wasn’t gonna push it, just wanted to make sure they moved the signs..but they had no problem overriding). The fine print does say no tubs included and the ad, however does show a picture of the 96 ct markers. So, I would say it will base solely on your store manager’s discretion. I was told by the manager that these were some pretty top notch markers!!

  12. Anisha

I was able to get last two 8pk they also rang up at regular price, informed him that the signage stated 2/5. He adjusted. When I got home he charged me 4.30 for 2/8pk. This is my sons first year of art he was very excited.

Be sure tom check the price they are ringing up. Great deal.

    Thank you.

  13. wendy

someone stuck the sign below the tub, but the fine print said not for the tub.

  14. Jen

Begrudgingly, the officemax manager did a price adjustment for me. I got the 48 count and 96 count for 5 bucks! Thanks! 🙂

  15. Kassi

Our Office Max staff must’ve heard about this, decided they didn’t want to deal with it, and HID all the tubs of markers! Lots of 8 count markers, but no tubs. Oh well, there are other deals out there……..

  16. Miriam

The signage at mine said specifically ALL, but they told me, sorry, it is excluded. I checked my ad when I got home and there was a tub in the picture and the small print said the tubs were excluded. That is false advertising.
