I think my CVS hates me. They wouldn’t accept both my Lays coupons, they tried to refuse my $5/$30 coupon, they tried to refuse my target coupon for the GE lightbulbs…the MF Coupon one, they told me I couldn’t use the $1/1 cherrios coupon on the small $1 cherrios cups, and on and on…I swear, I feel like I’m stealing when I go there…they SIGH when I get out my coupons!! And the lady told me today, “You can’t just get something for free. The onlineputer won’t let you.” ARGH!!! I just finished writing to corporate about their poor cust. service so we will see, but I am SO scared to set foot in that store again!!
AND does any one else have trouble with the stores scanning the smartsource coupons?? I’ve had trouble with the $5/5 Healthly choice and others…just wondering if it was maybe just me?
Sheila – good luck & I hope it gets better for you. I’ve had some pretty bad experiences (at my Target stores)…I know, it sucks sometimes. But, on the brighter side, for every one ‘bad’ experience I have had, I have had numerous ‘great’ experiences. Hip2Save has saved me so much money, and I have scored some nice ‘freebies’. Hang in there.
I’ve had troubles too having my coupons scanned. They don’t scan at all. I don’t know if it’s my ink or what? I went to two different Wal Marts with the same coupon. The first one said that she couldn’t do the coupon because it wouldn’t scan. So I had her take off the item then I went to a different Wal Mart and the same coupon scaned. Other times, depending on the cashier, they manually type in the numbers or just put in the amount of the coupon. I’m sorry you’ve had this happen. I hope things get better with you and your CVS.
Janet, I had problem with my coupons not scanning. My problem was that too much ink was being deposited on the bar code. I changed my setting to draft printing instead of regular. (This also saves inks) No problems since.
How do you change your printer to draft printing? I know how to do it on a word document, but with coupons it just starts printing automatically…..I am spending a fortune on ink!
It depends on your onlineputer, if you use Windows it will be in your Control Panel under Printers. HTH!
I feel your pain about the target logo-manufacturer coupon. Really a pain!
I have not had any trouble with the Healthy Choice coupons. They were on sale and I ended up getting them for 49 cents each. I bought 40 of them.

Your CVS sounds like my Target. I let them know, although *I* am getting something for free with my coupon, the store is getting reimbursed (normally the full value, plus the .8-.14cent handling fee). I hate when the cashiers act like our coupons are a major pain in the butt. You have those who LOVE to see what you save & others who get so irritated. One cashier in particular, I swear its like I am taking money from HER pocket…you would think that based on the way she acts. I got all the way up the management chain & call/write to corporate as well. I REFUSE to not shop somewhere because the cashiers dont like my coupons. Its not illegal & regardless of what they think, they have to do their job!!
You keep shopping there. Id also request to speak with the store manager about the issue at hand & the particular cashier (s). Hopefully things will get better!
Off topic – I sent in for the $15 rebate for Olay, and I got it sent back to me in the mail today because it said the PO Box was closed. How frustrating! Is anyone else having this problem?

the buddies bars @ target will beep only because the item is .97 & the coupon is 1.00. They normally will adjust the coupon down to .97, or hit the key and push it threw.
The $15 Olay was the one that got returned in the mail to me. I E-mailed Olay, so we’ll see if they write back.
Thanks girls– I do feel very luck b/c I have three great Targets and RA and WAGS that are all great. I’ll probably go see the mgr. b/c I really want to shop there! I drove all away across town to another CVS today and everything scanned through fine…don’t know what was up with my close CVS and the sticks up their….well, you know…

Is anyone having trouble using the manufacture coupons with the Target logo on them? The employee at CVS seemed suspicious and at Rite Aid the lady would not take them at all!! Please let me know if this is happening to you and what I could possibly do.

Yes that’s happened to me. I went to Walgreens when they had a great sale on those cereals and you get $5 off and they saw the Target logo and I pointed out that it says right there that it’s a man. coupon and they said it’s still a Target coupon. Then I told them I got it off their site and it’s still a man. coupon. Needless to say they still didn’t take it.
That happened with me at Walgreens too – same coupon I think. The cashier looked at it, called the manager over before he even scanned it. The manager looked at it for a long time. I explained (sweetly, of course), that Target hosts several manufacturer’s coupons on their website. However, it states manufacturer’s coupon. The manager asked the cashier “Well, does it scan?” The cashier scanned it, and it worked perfectly, no beeps or anything. So he said okay. I hope more people will start using these, so maybe the stores will get used to seeing them.

I think because they immediately see the Target logo most places will try to decline it. That happened at cvs the other day, once i pointed out it WAS a manufactor coupon they took the coupon.

OMG COLLIN, I am so sorry I mis spelled you name on my last onlinement. My appoligies.
With the Target Manf. coupons it also helped me during my recent “battles” ;0) to read them the bottom part that says “(Insert name of product) will reimburse you face value of product plus .08cent handling fee etc.” Also, if you have Target Web coupon maybe you could show them a onlineparison and what those look like (if they actually look different) I don’t have any with me to see if they look different or not. But I thought the Target Web Coupons say that on the top bar instead of Manufacture’s Coupon.
Sheila- I think we have all been through that. I had a manager at Wags last week argue with me that you had to “buy one to get one free”. I was trying to use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale on La Cross tools. I explained to her that it is accepted practice to use it that way and get both items free. She continued arguing.. “yeah, but don’t you have to BUY ONE to get ONE FREE??” She was very rude and treated me like a cranky near retirement math teacher I once had. I simply left the conversation at.. ” I am buying one.. these people are paying for it. *Show coupon*” “Your store pays for one.. they pay for the other.” She huffed and walked off. When I first started couponing, it would bother me. Now, I don’t care. Worse case.. I take my coupons back and void the transaction. There is always another store down the road that will take my business.

I have, many times, on a manufacture q for say Target that i want to use somewhere else … taken the white out tape and covered up the bullseye. I’ve done it for Kroger as well. I mean it’s ridiculous that it says manufacturer’s q and some choose to give you a hard time. This has never failed me, works like a charm.
Michelle that is hilarious about the white-out tape! Think i need to get some…are there any coupons for that out yet? 🙂 (They’re probably Target coupons, Walgreens will have the sale, and i won’t be able to score the deal because i don’t have my tape yet because that’s what i’m buying!)

The Visine Q’s from the Visine website is only good on 0.5oz and larger. It looks like the travel Visine is 0.28oz. so that Q wouldn’t work on the travel size 🙁
