Kohl’s is closing 27 stores by April 2025. Is your local store on the list? 

In January 2025, Kohl’s announced plans to close 27 underperforming stores by April of 2025, including locations in California, Illinois, Oregon, and Virginia. The move is part of the department store’s efforts to streamline its operations. Check out the full list to see if your location is included.

All associates at the affected locations have been informed of the closures and offered severance pay or the option to apply to other open roles at Kohl’s.

In November, Kohl’s announced that its 2024 3rd quarter net sales were down close to 9% over the same period in 2023. Kohl’s shares have fallen more than 50% over the last 12 months. The retailer operates more than 1,150 stores across the U.S.
