This Happy Friday reader has a trick to save BIG on holiday cards.🎄

Do you send holiday cards every year?

If so, then you know just how expenses can add up. Luckily, this week’s Happy Friday reader, Sarah, wrote in to share a clever trick with us. She saves 70% off her Christmas cards by ordering collage prints instead.

Here’s how Sarah does it!

Christmas Cards

“Hi! So, with Christmas just around the corner, I thought I would share something that not only has been saving me money the last couple of years, but also some stress during the holiday season!

I love sending and receiving holiday cards, especially when they include a photo. But some of those photo cards can be very expensive. 14 cents vs 50 cents doesn’t seem like a big deal but it adds up quick when you times that by say 60!”

A few years ago I was over it. The scramble to find the best deal on a photo card, the wait to get them in the mail, and the price of them! I still wanted to spread the Christmas cheer of sending them out though, so I decided to think outside the box!

I decided instead of spending money on fancy photos I would take the photos myself. With just a little editing on my phone, they looked professional!”

“Then I hopped over to walmart.online and by simply choosing their collage prints instead of their Christmas cards prints, I saved over 70% on my Christmas cards. Even better, you can get them the same day if you lost track of time and need them ASAP. 😅”

“It’s amazing how similar they look and we hand most of them out in person so we don’t miss the envelopes. I do pick up some cheap clearance Christmas cards the year before to stick them in if I decide to mail. Or, you definitely could just write a little note on the back and send in a normal envelope, if you prefer.”

“I also love using them as gift tags on gifts. I just write to and from on the back of the photo, punch a hole through the corner with a hole punch, tie some ribbon through to attach to my gift and it’s good to go!

Most everyone just wants the photo anyways and now after Christmas has onlinee and gone you can easily save the photo in a photo book. We have enjoyed simplifying and saving money with this Christmas ‘hack’!”

Can you pick up photos in store or are they shipped? Few places are doing in store pickup any more. Seems like only CVS and Walgreens

Great question! In my experience with Walmart’s photo items, some locations have more available than others so it may vary as to if you have the pick up option for certain projects. For example, I ordered photo magnets last year and I had to choose a store that was a few more minutes away than my usual location in order to grab them for pick up. Hoping that helps! 🤗
