What was the Shutterfly class action lawsuit about?
The settlement is a result of a lawsuit where the plaintiff accused Shutterfly of participating in deceptive advertising. The plaintiff alleged that Shutterfly offered customers inflated and/ or “phantom” discounts by using fake original reference prices in their ads. This led to the plaintiff having an increased urgency to buy due to the suggestion that the items were on sale.
Shutterfly denies any wrongdoing but did agree to the settlement and you can read the full settlement documents online. If you have additional questions on the case, you can inquire via email to [email protected] or by phone at 888-691-8270.
