Is the Eva NYC Mask Better Than the Viral K18 Biomietic Hair Mask?
What started as an un-product review to K18 became a product review of the Eva NYC hair mask! Keep reading to find out why I love the Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask.
Are expensive beauty products worth it?
Upon strolling through Sephora, there was a TikTok famous section. The product front and center was the K18 Biomimetic Leave-In Hair Mask. It was the travel size, just 0.5 ounces, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try it. My first shock was knowing this tiny little bottle was almost $30 and the full-size option is $79!
That alone made me want to put it back, but, lately, I’ve been struggling with my hair lacking moisture and feeling super dry. Plus, this product really is all over my FYP on TikTok of success stories. If this helped, then it was totally worth it to try!
This K18 Biomimetic hair mask is actually supposed to replace your conditioner entirely. Instructions said to use four pumps on clean, damp hair and use more if necessary. Wait four minutes, then brush it out. This is when my second wave of panic came into effect. 😆
I have A LOT of hair. I knew four pumps weren’t going to cover the entirety of my hair. With the bottle being 0.5oz, I knew that, even if I love this product, it’s going to last maybe three washes – if I’m lucky.
Quality-wise, I love the way it smells. It isn’t sticky and didn’t make my hair feel stiff or oily upon application the way some leave-in hair masks have in the past. I was definitely right about the application, though, as four pumps covered less than half my hair.
The more I used it, the more inconsistent my results became! It dried differently every time, the dryness was still there, and it still looked dull!
Plus, the size, the size, the size. 😞 I was right when I said if you have a ton of hair, this is not a realistic option. After just two washes, I noticed the product was significantly used. Now, with four washes, there is still room for maybe two more washes, but I don’t see myself purchasing this again as a long-term solution, especially since I’ve been unimpressed with the results.
Eva NYC hair mask and Mielle oil to the rescue!
I shared my hair struggles with a hairstylist friend, and she reonlinemended the Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask. For growth, I ordered the Mielle hair and scalp oil because this thing does wonders according to TikTok! My Hip coworker Monica, who has that similar naturally curly hair, also raves about this hair oil, saying it helped with the dryness of her hair. Sign me up!
Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask 16.9oz
Only $15.99!
Not only does this hair mask smell INCREDIBLE, but it also feels so nourishing to my hair. Upon application, I generously apply it to the midsection and ends of my hair, brushing it out with my scalp massager (which our team has had mixed reviews about – I love it!).
This specializes in treating dry hair, so moisture is key in this hair mask. It contains plant protein, argan oil, and Jojoba seed oil. You only keep it in your hair for about 2-5 minutes before rinsing, and my hair already feels soft and amazing after every rinse.
Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil 2oz
Only $8.96 (regularly $9.99)!
You can use this hair oil for daily use for styling purposes, scalp treatments, and split-end treatments. I’ve been applying it on my roots prior to washing my hair and letting it sit for about ten minutes before washing it.
It contains biotin, coconut oil, aloe extract, and other ingredients that help target those strong hair goals. While this is also small, oil treatment is different from conditioning treatments, meaning I only needed a few drops to make that huge difference I was hoping for.
I also have been treating my split ends with it; I don’t put it on my scalp unless I’m washing it, but I do add some to the mid-section of my hair, as pictured above. I’ll then brush it out, and I do this whenever my hair could use a little extra shine. It looks and feels absolutely incredible, and my hair feels stronger than ever!
This onlinebo is officially Hip-reonlinemended!
We give this onlinebo a 10/10! They both have continued to impress me and allow me to achieve my strong hair goals. Not only was it inexpensive, but it was also nourishing, strengthening, and smelled incredible! You can score both of these products for about $5 cheaper than a 0.5oz K18. 😱
Listen, we like to splurge a little, too, when the product is worth it. While K18 didn’t make my hair worse, it didn’t make it better either! At that price point, I was expecting much better results. If you have thick hair, I’d 100% steer clear of this product unless you’re willing to pay $75 for the larger 1.5oz bottle. 🫠
