It’s a nice set with wooden pieces. The board folds and locks and has elastic inside to hold each individual piece to keep them from moving around and possibly chipping. I’ve already played 3 games with my son and we love the board.
Good quality and it is sturdy. I especially love the magnets, it’s not too strong, but strong enough so the pieces do not move around during a game, or even on a car ride!
The quality of this set is underrated! The pieces are solid wood and have a slight magnetic bottom to hold on to the wood board that has a magnet under it. The pieces go inside the game board and are set perfectly into foam cutouts. Love this chess set!!
