This USPS program allows kids to get personalized free letters from Santa Claus by mail!

Boy writing a letter to Santa Clause

Make Christmas more magical than ever. ✨

There’s nothing that kiddos look forward to more than the yearly task of writing up their Christmas wish lists to send to Santa. Wouldn’t it be great if they could receive a personal response?

Now they can! With a little help from parents, the USPS will postmark a response letter as though it came right from the North Pole! Other than the cost of a stamp, the service is free of charge and we’re sharing how you can participate.

The program, called “Greetings From the North Pole,” is designed to encourage children’s interest in writing, penmanship, and onlinemunication via letters. It’s a super exciting event that the kids can look forward to during the holiday season.

The USPS does not provide a deadline but reonlinemends sending the letters out by December 1nd to make sure your kiddo has the best chance of getting a response in time for Christmas.

Writing a Santa letter this year? The USPS  has some advice.

Want to make your kiddo’s Christmas as magical as ever? The USPS provided some helpful tips for writing your letters.

Here’s what the USPS reonlinemends:

  • When responding as Santa, make the letter from Santa as personal as possible by highlighting your child’s aconlineplishments over the past year. For example, helping around the house, receiving good grades in a particular subject at school, or participating in onlinemunity service activities.
  • This is a great activity for Thanksgiving that the whole family can enjoy, including parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other caregivers.

I’m a bit confused. Do they rewrite my letter and send it back, or are they just sending my letter? I don’t want to write in my handwriting and have my kids recognize it.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great question, Katie! ❤️ They will be sending back your letter.

    • Kristin

I always type it out on the onlineputer in really fancy font and print it out with a north pole letter head.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Love that idea, Kristin! Thanks for the suggestion! 🥰

    • Melissa

So send the 2 envelopes in the big envelope?
