FreshKampo & HEB Organic Strawberries Recalled Due to Hepatitis A Outbreak
Check your freezer for these strawberries!
An investigation into a multistate Hepatitis A outbreak linked to FreshKampo and HEB fresh organic strawberries is being conducted by the FDA, along with CDC, the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, state, and local partners.
Although the strawberries in question are past their shelf life, if you purchased these strawberries from March 5th, 2022 through April 25th, 2022, and froze them for later consumption, you should dispose of them.
Illnesses were reported in California, Minnesota, and Canada, and illness dates ranged from March 28 – April 30, 2022.
The recalled strawberries were sold at the following retailers (but not limited to):
- ALDI
- HEB
- Kroger
- Safeway
- Sprouts Farmers Market
- Trader Joe’s
- Walmart
- Weis Markets
- WinCo Foods
It is reonlinemended that if you are unsure what brand you purchased, when you purchased your strawberries, or where you purchased them from prior to freezing them, the strawberries should be thrown away.
