I’m curious what others would say but I checked my account that I order from regularly and it didn’t work. But it worked with my husbands account which doesn’t have a prime membership anymore and hasn’t been used in months. If I had to guess, I would say it worked for accounts that aren’t regularly used. Amazon is trying to get those customers back.

I had the offer and I have Prime, the Amazon Visa, and buy stuff from Amazon usually at least once per week, if not more. So there’s no real way to know how they decide.

Got it – thanks! Not sure if it matters but the email I entered for it to be sent to was a 2nd acct of mine, not linked to my amazon acct. Initially I was sending it to my main acct and it didn’t work… But that might have been a fluke

tried it and it went through. then got email immediately from Amazon saying they disabled my account,
that my account was onlinepromised and sent me instructions to reset. not sure if it’s just my account, but I say BEWARE.

I received my $15 promotional credit within 3 days. It didn’t show up in my gift card balance. I received an email and a $15 promotional credit popped up automatically when I placed an order on April 28th.

When I get promotional credits from Amazon, I don’t see them. They appear at checkout when you have a qualifying item ready to buy. It needs to be something that is sold and shipped by Amazon.

I heard the same thing about having to be a first time gift certificate purchaser and also heard you could only spend your $15.00 on Amazon products & shipped by Amazon. I guess the first time purchaser gossip was wrong! 😊

Thank you for sharing. BE VERY CAREFUL ENTERING THE RECIPIENT EMAIL ! I actually qualified. I don’t know if this is why but used the tip that someone said of not using the email attached to your Amazon account. I used a second email address I have. Before checking out I realized I was missing 1 character from my email address & I certainly didn’t want to chance that that was someone else’s email & they get a free $50 e-gift card. Unfortunately I did not see an edit option so all I could do was take a screenshot & delete it. I went back to enter it correctly & sure enough the code came up not able to be applied. I did a chat & explained the situation. The rep said he was escalating & I would hear back in 24-48 hours. Fingers crossed !
