This Alexa-Enabled Device Prints Sticky Notes and NEVER Needs Ink or Toner!
Amazon is developing a new Alexa-enabled device designed to help you use your voice to make quick, hands-free sticky notes. The new Smart Sticky Note Printer will allow users to make lists and notes and then print them out whenever they need – all just using your voice and a onlinepatible Echo device.
The new device is a thermal printer, so it will never need ink or toner. It sounds really easy to use too – just turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and say, “Alexa, discover my printer.” It onlinees with one roll of yellow sticky paper, and refills will be available for purchase in blue, pink, white, and yellow. It’s estimated to begin shipping between July and September, and you can preorder it now for $114.99.
The Smart Sticky Note Printer is the very first product to emerge from Amazon’s new Day 1 Editions program called Build It. This initiative allows customers to vote for their favorite new Alexa-enabled devices by preordering them. If a device receives enough pre-orders during its 30-day campaign, it will go on to be produced and sold on Amazon, and early supporters will be among the first to get one.
The Smart Sticky Note Printer beat out two other potential Alexa-enabled devices for the chance to be produced – a Smart Nutrition Scale and a Smart Cuckoo Clock. Since those devices failed to meet their pre-order goals, they will not be built and supporters who pre-ordered them will not be charged.
Want to help decide which devices Amazon builds next? Amazon’s Build It program is just getting started, and there will be other potential Alexa-enabled devices to support soon. You can head on over here to learn more about this initiative, and to help make your favorite new device ideas a reality!
