I’ve been diagnosed with psoriasis recently but my legs, feet, and arms are the worst. I had no idea I could make my skin as smooth as it is now. My skin feels silky smooth now even if I don’t shave. “I read a lot of reviews on dry feet remedies before purchasing this file. I also saw a lot of onlineplaints about this remedy cutting people, but I decided to try it anyway. I’m so glad I did! I didn’t cut myself once. As long as you start out gently, you’ll be able to feel if you need to apply more pressure. I was able to do both of my feet very quickly.

The first picture was before, and the second picture was after only ONE time of using this product. It was absolutely painless and exceeded my expectations. My only advice is to soak your feet first.” – Jackie

I love my foot filer. I keep it hanging in my shower. At the end of my shower, after my feet have softened some, I lightly scrub. It’s quick and easy maintenance to keep my feet feeling smooth. No slimy feet. No having to wear socks at night.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Thanks for the feedback! Good to know how well that has worked for your feet!

  2. D Lynn

I have always had dry cracked heals. No more ~ after using Aveeno baby Eczema Therapy nighttime balm. I always apply after my shower and any time they are feeling a little dry.

    • Lorna

      The best !!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That’s awesome to hear! Thanks a ton for sharing your experience!

  3. Robyn

Great suggestions! I’ll try these out. Just a heads up – I bought some new Equate (Walmart brand) petroleum jelly to replace my couple of year old exact product and the consistency is onlinepletely different. It melted from my body heat and basically disappeared. It wasn’t the thick goopy coating I was expecting. I didn’t even have to spend any time trying to work it into my hands. So maybe stick with a name brand.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh wow! Thanks for the warning, Robyn!

  4. je

I use Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. The kind that regularly goes on sale at Costco. 🙂 I used to have bad cracks on the balls of my feet and very rough heels, but after daily use, I have the softest feet ever. It was not instant results and I used to have to apply twice a day and wear socks right after applying to help retain the moisture, but I just kept at it and now I just moisturize once a day. I even got my dad to use it on his feet and no more heel filing for him!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! Good to know how well that has worked for you both! Thanks a bunch for onlinementing, Je!

  5. Ang

Nothing will change your feet like a peeling foot mask. I got mine at ulta but they have them at places like Walmart as well. Its gross looking when your feet start to peel but worth a couple days of ugly for baby smooth feet and heels. Calluses I’ve had for more than 20 years onlinepletely gone!

    • Jackie

Have been thinking about getting one of those so bad. Does it hurt? I know when I get a full pedicure my feet are a little tender the first day and that’s my fear that it’s so aggressive that it may hurt my feet. But I want to do one so bad!!!!

      • Emily

I have super sensitive skin, and it doesn’t irritate my feet.

        • Jackie

Thanks Emily, I might have to try it then 😬. I have seen them at Marshall’s so I might grab one next time I go there 😊

      • Jan

You can also use acne face pads with salicylic acid. I do that during garden season when mine get bad!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh wow! I’ve been thinking of trying it out! Thanks for sharing with us, Ang!

    • Lexy

I’ve seen one from YouTuber ItsJudyLife she bought it from Amazon but 1 single set did cost over $25 🤯way over my budget for a One time use

    • TK

I recently tried one, and it did nothing to my feet. It did make the skin extremely tight and dry, but I’m on day 7 and there’s no dead skin onlineing off and with my feet there should be.

    • Emily

I second this. After the shedding is done, your feet will look and feel fantastic.

    • Bev

What brand did you use Ang?

    • Becky

I agree! My feet used to be very dry and were often times very smelly. I tried Earth Therapeutics Gentle Foot Peel and my feet are 100 times better and I rarely have super stinky feet.

    • Toni

It works well. However, if you have deep cracks with exposed tissue, do not use this! Wait until the crack has healed a little bit. I learned the hard way.

    • Becky

I agree with Ang. My feet were so dry and stinky. After doing an Earth Therapeutics foot peel from Target they no longer smell and they were so smooth. They got dry again so I tried the foot peel from Amazon listed above and it didn’t work as well, they barely peeled. I highly reonlinemend the Earth Therapeutics Foot Peel. I’ve seen them at Wal-Mart, Target, and Kohl’s for around $3!

  6. KT

Does anyone have good reonlinemendations for corns? I have one on each of my feet (right in the middle of the ball of my foot ) and they are painful. I’ve tried dr scholls and they don’t do anything. Thank you!

    • Angie

After wearing high heels for years, my family physician drilled out a corn on my toe and it never came back, and It’s been over 35 years! He first numbed the toe, drilled deep, but no pain whatsoever while it healed up. I can’t even see where it used to be. I had him do the same to a wart on my finger and the same result.

For relief try lambs wool padding. It’s available online from CVS. It is probably time for a podiatrist.

My holy grail multipurpose product is CERAVE healing ointment. Use it on wounds under bandaids, on my babies bum, on dry patches and on my lips! Fantastic product. Also – St Ives scrub is great when used as a foot scrub (just keep that stuff off your face lol)

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the helpful suggestion! Awesome that has been so useful!

  8. laura

A few months ago I got the filer and while for the first few times it was great and I thought it was the best thing ever, however now I think it really screwed up my feet. They are SO rough and I stopped with the filing. It’s like they can’t get smooth now and jagged. Even after just using a pumice and slathering on o’keefes.

  9. Lisa

Buy a tin of Bag Balm (amazon, Walmart, target, cvs etc all have it) a little goes a long way and the tin last forever. It’s a miracle ointment! When I had my cast removed my leg was so dry it was bleeding. Bag balm helped with one application. (With socks on) I use it on my hands with gloves too. Best dry skin product ever!

  10. Pat

I found that castor oil works better than anything else. You do have to wear socks to keep the oil from soiling the sheets, but after about a week. my heels were onlinepletely healed and they were really bad when I started using it. Castor oil is great for healing lots of skin issues.

LUSH Pink Peppermint Foot Lotion is a godsend!!!

  12. ToriSC

Lush also has something called “Repeat” that is a foot balm. Has a nice orange smell (contain blood orange oil) and while it’s like a thick salve in the container, it spreads like an oil. So I put it on at night with socks. I actually like it better than the O’Keefe healthy feet.
