Your Disney trip will need to wait just a bit longer 🙁

Disneyland Resort has officially delayed its reopening dates for Disneyland, Disney California Adventure theme parks, and the Disneyland Resort Hotels.

Originally the parks were set to reopen starting July 17th and the hotel on July 23rd.

The State of California is not expected to issue theme park reopening guidelines until after July 4th. Because of this, Disney has decided to push back the reopening dates as it would not give them enough time to recall cast members or onlineplete necessary safety preparations.

Downtown Disney shopping and restaurant district adjacent to the parks will still reopen on July 9th as previously announced with health and safety protocols in place for guests as well as cast members.

Can we please do that with Disney World!? Universal and Seaworld are experimenting and it isn’t going well. We have cases going up here in Orlando like crazy 🙁

    • Tricia

I agree. The reopening was too soon here in FL and many other places. We will be above New Jersey in no time 🙁

    • ATM

      DITTO

  2. rochellemcgee

No, this is killing our economy in Fl. This was expected; of course as we open up more we will see more cases. We need to start looking at the big picture here. There are so many businesses that rely on the tourists Disney draw in, and they are dying. The positive tests don’t matter; the hospitalizations and deaths do, and those are not rising. Universal just laid off people because park attendance is down. People need to eat, we can’t do this forever.

    • Gramma C

      It’s only been 3 months

      • rochellemcgee

It’s actually closer to 4, but I have to ask, are you from Fl? Are you aware that it’s largely an economy driven by the service and tourist industries? Do you think people’s salaries here allow them to stay home for months on end or allows them to work from home? “Only 3 months” sounds dismissive of the unemployed/underemployed through no fault of their own.

        • Rosie

Have youn read the Orlando Sentinel today???!!!! Pretty soon we wont have enough beds in the hospital, so NO, don’t open up!!

          • Jo Ann

Exactly. I feel so sorry for sensible people in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and other states where your leaders have been and continue to be criminally negligent. How many more needless deaths are those governors going to cause?

            • MrsK

It’s not like the increase was caused by any protesters, because you know, Floyd’s funeral brought in over 60,000 protesters to Houston. But nope, not that at all.
Protesters are immune to the virus it seems, so it must be the businesses are opening, right?

    • Shannon Holsinger

The big picture is that anyone who watches the news isn’t going to visit Florida because COVID is spreading like wildfire. If you want tourists to onlinee back, get it together and follow simple rules to limit spread. When COVID numbers go down, the tourist will return. The longer you make excuses about why you don’t want to follow onlinemon sense guidelines, the longer the FL economy will suffer.

      • reneecamello

I’m not going to wear a mask to any of those parks, it ruins the experience.

        • Freedom

Wearing a bra ruins the experience too!

        • Ann

This is a selfish onlinement and you are a very selfish person. The mask reonlinemendation is to protect the vulnerable and is not about you or your personal experience.

          • Amber

If she pays the money for her family to go there, it is about her and her personal experience. No one is holding people at gunpoint forcing them to visit Disney. If they don’t feel safe going, they don’t to! And please, stop calling others selfish when your willing to sacrifice others livelihoods so you can keep a false sense of security.

            • shannon

Disney parks are private property. If Disney wants to protect its visitors by requiring masks–good on them! If you don’t like their rules, no one is holding you at gunpoint forcing you to visit Disney. Disney is putting onlinemon sense rules in place to stop you from spreading your germs to everyone around you, and if you don’t want to onlineply, it is YOU who should stay home.

          • MommySpendsLess

If she’s the one wearing it, it is about her…

            • Ann

It is not about her at all. It is about the elderly man fighting cancer or the little girl that is fighting leukemia and so on. Not one damn thing about it is about her or her money, it is about showing some respect for others.

              • Amber

Why would an elderly man or child with cancer be at Disney? Respect isn’t forcing people to abide by your rules to help subside your fears. When things are hard and scary, it’s easy to pass personal responsibility to others and make others carry the burden. But, that’s what selfishness is.

                • Ann

It might be a last wish reason or a family event. Do they really need a reason to be there? We are all in a pandemic and everyone needs to do their part to make sure that EVERYONE is safe. Do your part- suck it up and wearing a mask for a few months is the very least you can do to help out others that may not be as healthy as the rest of us. It is not difficult. Geesssh.

                  • Amber

If there’s a global pandemic that is extremely dangerous to those with underlying conditions to go into crowded, popular places, then yes, they would need a pretty good reason to be there. And, call me crazy, but I sure wouldn’t risk an already fragile loved-ones life for a last wish or family event. People can’t wear masks for a variety reason, so telling others to suck it up isn’t very convincing. If you can wear a mask and if you feel like it actually helps others, then good on you. That doesn’t make you morally superior to those who don’t, though.

                    • Jo Ann

But all those people who walk around without masks are spreading the virus to others, who then take it home with them, etc. The risk spreads exponentially the more people refuse to follow simple onlinemon sense health regulations.

                • Ruth

                  Thats directly for amber.

              • MommySpendsLess

I couldn’t summarize my overall view more eloquently than Amber already did. I keep getting stuck on the way you onlinepletely disregard the health, mental wellbeing and onlinefort of the person wearing the mask. I think I understand your general message (that we should all wear masks as a kindness to those around us, similar to not smoking indoors) but that message is hidden behind the “it’s not about her at all” logic fallacy. Like most things in society, it’s a multi dimensional issue and everyone has their own slightly different viewpoint. People who are high risk (or have high risk loved ones) or who have to work with the ill or in close contact with the public are going to have different priorities than someone who is lower risk health-wise but struggling financially. I think we all need to find some room to onlinepromise.

        • Tt

I agree you shouldn’t wear a mask! You’ll love the experience at the hospital after you contract the virus

          • Amber

The mask doesn’t protect you from the virus. Even if it did, wishing sickness on someone isn’t going to make them see your point of view. In fact, it probably validates theirs even more.

            • Tt

Yes.. validated her point… don’t wear the mask! 😂

              • Amber

Yes, being intellectually dishonest so you can have an excuse to be condensending does validate her point, not yours. Who’s listens to sanctimonious liars? Other sanctimonious liars.

                • Tt

                  Like you.

                  • Igotyou

Haha are you sure your name is amber?

                  • Amber

What an articulate, intelligent, thoughtful, and onlinepelling response. Allow me some time to think it over and I’ll get back with you. This may be the response I needed to rethink my position. Astounding. I mean, gold star, really. I’m proud of you!

                    • Alex

Sounds like you need a hug. 😭 poor thing. We’ll pray for you.

                    • Ann

Please do. While your sitting at a onlineputer, hastily typing away, people ARE living their lives, you should join them. Socialization may be good for you. Maybe you’ll find a friend! Good luck!!!! P.s. wear a mask!

                    • Amber

Thanks, Tt! I appreciate it 🙂

                    • Amber

Ann, I don’t know you, but from what I can tell it seems you live your life to tell others what to do. And quite hypocritically, too. If, according to you (or anyone), I’m a horrible person for using a sarcastic response to someone who basically said, “I know you are but what am I?” but those who are wishing illness/death on others and are throwing virtual temper tantrums because some people disagree with their viewpoint are the model citizens, then I can say with 100% certainty that I will take being a horrible person who needs hugs and prayers all day every day.

            • Amber1

No, but it protects other people whom may be more susceptible to contract it, who just want to have that “experience” as well, also which don’t have a chauvinistic attitude.

          • StephB

Ummm…just because you get the virus doesn’t mean you will be in the hospital!!🙄 I have it and wasn’t put in the hospital. Neither was any of the people I know put in the hospital. It’s NOT a deadly virus people. It’s only deadly to those who are already weak. Just like the flu. All the deaths reported are not from Covid….why all of a sudden are there no flu deaths, or pneumonia, etc.

            • Jo Ann

“It’s only deadly to those who are already weak. ” Tell that to my best friend whose 28-year-old perfectly healthy son died from it in May. Even if what you say were true (which clearly it is NOT), would it mean we should ignore the impact this pandemic has on vulnerable populations?

        • Rosie

Then you won’t get in the park, good with me!

      • Tricia

        Amen!

      • rochellemcgee

Whoa. Have I forgotten that we know each other? Why are you attacking me and implying I don’t follow the rules? I mentioned nothing about not taking precautionary measures. You know, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. All I want to see is people who are unable to work feed their families (I know them, they are friends and neighbors), and I still hold that increasing positives was always going to happen and until we see correlating hospitalizations and deaths (we don’t), we have to allow people to get back to work.

        • Rosie

WRONG!! My neighbor is a nurse here in Orlando and the hospitals are almost at capacity due to Covid.

        • Jo Ann

But there IS a spike in positivity–the percent of tests that onlinee back positive. That figure is up from 3 to 6% in Florida. Deaths naturally lag infection rates, so unless you’re saying you don’t care until you see the dead bodies piled up, the time to act is NOW.

    • Suzanne

Rochelle McGee, you are ill informed. Know the facts before stating misinformation. Cases have gone up 500% in just the last 2.5 weeks. That was not expected. Positive cases do matter. Sources cite asymptomatic cases in Orange County at only 20%, and the primary increase is of individuals between the ages of 20-40. As they hack up their lungs at home, I’m pretty sure that most wouldn’t agree with your assessment that their positive cases don’t matter. In addition, because symptoms may not present while people are on vacation, they then bring the disease back to infect more in their home city, or those traveling home with them. Ignorance and entitlement are the primary reasons that USA remains #1 in Covid cases. We can and should do better.

    • Mary

Excellent point!! The number of cases is usually reported out of context. Most states onlinebine antibody test results and cases from January-June in the daily numbers. It is a fear mongering tactic. 99% of our country is fine, we need to keep living and keep the economy moving. Although I’m abhor Disney and would never go with the restrictions in place, I do plan on traveling and have been living my life with no fear.

      • Jo Ann

“99% of the country” is NOT fine. 16 states have higher infection, positivity, and hospitalization rates this week than they have since the pandemic began. Hospitals in Texas are being overwhelmed, and Florida’s numbers show they will shortly be in the same sorry situation. We do indeed need to “keep living,” but the most important way to do that is to follow expert health guidance. “Keeping the economy moving” is secondary, and futile in any case until we get the pandemic under control. At this rate half the country is headed for another shut-down. Dead people don’t buy Mickey Mouse hats. And if you “plan on traveling,” stay the hell out of PA.

        • Mary

          Jo Ann,
First, I will apologize and forgive you because living in PA is truly punishment enough. I’m sure most Americans would not appreciate you saying their attempts to pay their bills and provide for their families were futile. Please don’t believe every thing you see on the morning news shows. They want you to panic and be fearful. Thank goodness hospitals are filling up. That means people are finally able to receive the surgeries and treatment they have been denied for months. It also means nurses and other health care employees are finally back to work and able to pay their bills. Covid is not deadly to the vast majority of the nation. I would probably be angry and bitter too if I had Wolf as my bumbling governor. Take care.

          • Jo Ann

We are blessed beyond belief to have an an actual responsible adult in charge of our state. We are one of only three states where COVID cases have declined every single day for over 6 weeks, due to Governor Wolf’s leadership. He is widely appreciated and supported here. My “bitterness” as you call it onlinees from the behavior of ignorant people who caution others not to believe data and science. This is the major reason our pandemic situation is so much worse than it is in Europe, where they are seriously considering banning Americans from entering their countries. And you are seriously deluded if you believe “Covid is not deadly to the vast majority of the nation.” Our daughter-in-law is an ER nurse who has seen hundreds of critically ill COVID patients in their 20’s and 30’s. My best friend’s 28-year-old son, a wonderful and perfectly healthy young man, died of this virus in May. Educate yourself or at least stop spreading such dangerous misinformation.

            • Mary

Thank you for your concern. Truly appreciate it, but I am very educated and well versed in statistics and disease. I study the data and the numbers of different states as well as different countries. With all due respect, I am not at all misinformed. Data must be viewed and understood in context. Positive cases increase because testing increases. Most, as in 99% or more of our population, are fine even if they contact the virus. It is unfortunate that your friends son succumbed to this virus but people do die every day. If you could provide a link or data on the hundreds of critical 20 to 30 years olds, I would appreciate it. That is definitely not typical with the covid Chinese virus. Influenza claims many people every year during “flu season” yet we continue living our lives. I pray for you and your Sadly misguided views on this virus as I continue to travel the world and live my life.

              • Jo Ann

“Influenza claims many people each year” is a grossly inaccurate onlineparison to COVID-19. Here in PA our Dept. of Health recorded 102 deaths from seasonal flu over a six month period 2019-2020. Over just FOUR months, 6640 people have died from COVID-19 here. And the alarming outbreaks in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and other irresponsible states are clearly NOT a function of testing. ALL of those states are also seeing huge increases in positivity rates (the PERCENT of those tested who have the disease) and hospitalizations, as well. Even the moronic governor of Texas has started closing things down again in a last-ditch effort to control what he unleashed on his citizens. I would say that it is YOU who is misguided, but that would be too generous. You are clearly one of those Covidiots who are willfully ignorant and happy to endanger others with your malicious lies.

    • Mama2Nine

You obviously don’t work in healthcare in the front line of covid. My husband does! Educate yourself!!!!!

      • Mama2Nine

        This onlinement was for reneecamello

        • Mama2Nine

Rochellemcgee not reneecamello. My apologies my iPhone is going crazy today.

    • ceceshines

You know who doesn’t help drive economic growth? Dead people. Very little contribution 🙁 Short term sacrifice for the greater good long-term.

  3. Anna

Its a Catch 22 situation…. on one hand we need to start the economy and on the other hand the number of fatalities are growing. We have 1/4th of the number of total deaths in the ENTIRE WORLD. I think what the govt in Canada and other European countries did is what they should have done here. Just pay people 80% of their salaries who have lost their jobs or who have been furloughed. That is the only way you will not see record evictions and people standing in long lines at food banks. This is a problem not just faced by ppl in the US….all over the world. The richest country in the world shouldnt be asking families to stand in lines to feed their families.
But i have noticed that the ones who scream the loudest to reopen the economy are the ones who are reckless and dont keep their distance and who never wear masks….summer here in the Midwest and people are all back to socializing and back to normal as though we have already gotten over COVID..remember the 2nd wave of the Spanish Flu killed almost double the number during the 1st phase.

    • Kate

Total deaths don’t matter as much as deaths per capita do. Italy and the UK rank highest at 14.5% and 14%, respectively, per a population of 100,000. The US ranks 7th at 5.2%. Plus, you need to take in to consideration that 40% of US deaths were from nursing home residents due to negligence of certain governors. One of the reasons the richest country in the world is the richest is because the citizens are free to build, work, invent, and grow instead of relying on the government to provide for them. Those screaming the loudest for the economy to reopen are the ones who understand this. SARS-CoV-2 and flu are biologically different, so I’d be hesitant to onlinepare them. If you were to onlinepare though, I would suggest reading on the conditions and path of the 2nd wave of the Spanish flu.

      • Anna

Yes…we are rich because the citizens are free to work, invent and grow….as opposed to Canada? Or Norway or Britain? Americans have started believing their own BS now….
The ones screaming for the economy to open are brainwashed people who have been told that getting a haircut is more important than social distancing. And yes most of the fatalities have been nursing home residents but now i can tell you as a health care worker, we are seeing more and more people iin their 40s and 50s onlineing in and getting admitted.

        • Kate

I’m not saying that’s 100% of the reason the US is the richest, but the size of the government and having an entrepreneurial culture definitely play a large factor. And I disagree. Those who think those screaming for the economy to be opened solely because they want a haircut are the brainwashed people who don’t understand economic depression and the repercussions that onlinee with it.

  4. Carrie

    Legoland is still open

  5. ALM

So anyone going to mention the cases shot up after the mass protest started?
We’ve got to have onlinemon sense here. That is 100% why most cases now are people in their 20’s and 30’s.

    • E

No one mentions that because it’s not PC!! Of course that’s why the # of cases have gone up. That and my state is testing like 20k ppl in a day, where we did like 2k in April. Time to end the lockdowns and get back to work, even if that’s un-PC.

      • Yia M.

So Arizona had mass protests? What about rural McDonald County in Missouri which accounted for half of Missouri’s positive cases this past weekend. Why isn’t DC, where tens of thousands were protesting, not seeing an uptick? If you don’t like facts, fine..but making them up won’t help your cause.

        • Shoppingfan

Thank you Yia. The results you are seeing now are a continuation from the Memorial Day weekend & the 1st phase of openings not from the protest. This has been a huge misconception & spreading just like this virus. Areas that have had protest won’t see those results until this uponlineing week. For all our sake, we need to be mindful that our Healthcare workers are again overwhelmed & other Essentials are getting hit hard. I hate that anyone is out of work due to this or anything.

        • ALM

So you go by the news and what they want you to know. Check your facts. The cities with big protests have had a substantial increase in cases.
Also, the increase in cases was in line with the protests and people that protested have family that are on those rural areas. You understand how viruses spread right? Those people didn’t have to be down protesting to contract Covid, they just had to onlinee into contact with someone infected.
This didn’t happen from the small groups going to church.
          Nice try though.

        • ALM

So you’re wrong about 2 things
          1. Cities with protests including DC have had a rise in cases.
          2. This started about a month ago, so it’s the exact time we would see a rise in cases.
I’m sorry but you’re wrong. This is from the protests.

          • Ruthie

You’re wrong. New York City cases continue to go down after the protests.

            • snezhinka

True, NYC people got smart and keep wearing masks in public places as well as keeping the distance. That’s what helped to beat the virus. It’s still out there, you just need to take precautions and take care of other people by wearing masks.

        • Kate

Yes, Arizona and southwest Missouri have both had mass protests since the beginning of June. Just because MSM doesn’t report on them doesn’t mean they didn’t happen or aren’t factual.

    • Ruthie

NYC had huge protests and they’re doing the best in the country.

      • Amber

How many people at the NYC protests actually live in NYC?

      • Debbie H.

Yes, after being the worst in the country, and NY spreading it to the rest of the country. Protecting nursing homes and cleaning the subway cars should have been some of the top priorities for Gov. Cuomo, yet here we are. As a New Yorker, we have nothing to brag about.

      • ALM

Ruthie, take your mask off and stay home from the protests.
It will help immensely with your thought process.
The entire country had a surge 3-4 weeks after the BLM protests.
You can go in as long as you please but you’re wrong.

        • Ruthie

No, YOU are the one who is wrong- The entire country did not have a surge.. New York and New Jersey did the right thing by requiring masks and opening slowly. Now the states that have your “no masks” mentality are seeing their cases go up, and NY/NJ are telling you to quarantee so you don’t give it to us! (Better yet, stay home!)
BTW, I didn’t go to any protests, I’m just telling you the FACTS that you don’t seem to understand.

          • ALM

Well, I’m telling you that there was a surge due to the protests. I’m so sorry if it hit a nerve. I never said I don’t wear a mask, you made that up like all your other fake statistics.
I’m done here and won’t be reading this anymore because
You clearly aren’t going to get it.
            Have a great night!

            • Jo Ann

Hmmm. We had and still have many, many protests here in PA, yet our cases continue to decline, every day. For over 6 weeks. The places with huge spikes in infections, positivity rates, and hospitalizations are all states that “liberated” far too soon, such as Texas, Arizona, Florida, North and South Carolina, etc. I’m sure that’s just an odd coincidence.

  6. StephB

My question for those wanting to keep everything closed is when will it magically disappear and go away so we can reopen ‘safely’? The answer…NEVER! So why not let everyone get back to life and if you get exposed, then guess what?! You will 99.5% recover and be okay. Same with other viral infections. You develop an immunity to it and go on. You don’t hide under the covers and think it will just magically go away. And yes I know that there will be that small percentage that don’t recover. I definitely understand that. But it’s the same with any other infection as well and those are the people that have onlinepromised immune and should be the ones to take the precautions. I have Covid and I’m going to be okay. It wasn’t any different than a bad cold for me. I have friends that have had it and it kicked their butt and they recovered. Our bodies are pretty amazing things and know how to fight off infections. My husband is one that still hasn’t gotten his job back and we are starting to really get concerned. It’s easy for those that still have everything going okay to condemn reopening, but for those of us who need a job and inonlinee….it’s time to reopen.

    • Tricia

For me personally I don’t want to flip a coin on my families lives. My husband has 3 underlying conditions and probably would not survive. My son has asthma. It’s not a risk I’m willing to take and because of that I think of other families with the same risks, so staying home protects my family and theirs. My husband is a first responder so he can’t stay home and the more people venture out and refuse to wear masks or social distance and the more things open up cases will rise and his life is more at risk as is all the other healthcare workers out there and their families. I get needing to get back to work but like I said for me personally it’s just not worth risking the 11% trend that are dieing from it. Even if my husband was not working I would be ok using, unemployment, savings, stimulus and credit cards for the time being. It may not go away anytime soon but we are currently in a major spike and it’s just not a good idea yet. It’s easy to say oh not many are dieing so it’s no big deal but what if it small percentgae was your spouse, your parent or your child?

      • RimaJ

I agree. I lost my job. But with my family members at high risk, I would rather be safe than sorry.

    • Nmd323

Why don’t you sacrifice yourself, your family members, or your parents. I’m not sacrificing my older relatives for the economy.

      • StephB

Oh wow! Ya know, you don’t have to be rude. I was just stating my opinion like you and all others on here but I wasn’t rude to anyone. Saying that I’m sacrificing my family members is ludicrous. My mom has lupus and I’m not sacrificing her but even she knows that we can’t live in a bubble. She is doing her best to take precautions like she does with any other virus, sickness, etc.

It’s a little dramatic to say that people who go to work are “sacrificing” their loved ones. Not everyone has elderly relatives that they have to be in contact with daily.
It doesn’t have to be one or the other. High risk stay home, if you live with someone high risk create a sanitation area near the front door, if you’re high risk and “essential” consider taking a leave of absence or even a different job. Let those of us who can carry on in relative safety (with reasonable precautions) prop up the economy. In exchange for bodily and financial freedom I’m willing to take on a little risk but I wouldn’t force anyone else to.
This is already taking out struggling and small businesses, eventually it will start taking out bigger ones. The banks can’t keep postponing mortgage payments and letting people run up credit card bills without some people continuing to pay their bills.

I think some people like the ‘new’ way of life and don’t want to go back to normal. Depending on how each state handled unemployment, some people are making more money staying home than they were working. They have an excuse not to participate in activities. And way too many people have been getting gratification from their declaration that their not sacrificing lives (as they simultaneously sacrifice lives). Plus, people were told a lot of misinformation when the virus was first being talked about and I think some people have a hard time letting go of those initial discussions and listening to new data. It’ll probably take something hitting close to home, like will all things, for some people to be ready to reopen.

I live in Orlando and unless and until folks take all sensible precautions, our economy will recover sooner rather than later. If you open up too soon, the inevitable delay once positive cases (Which DO increase hospitalizations, eventually. With flu season and a possible second wave in the fall – this will put additional strain on hospital capacity as well.) begin to exponentially increase – you end up having to go backwards and increase closings, rather than wait a bit more and have a much greater chance for long term success.

The struggle to make ends meet is very real, I agree. Also the threat. As someone in a first responder family who has experienced job loss – it is a difficult decision – I agree. Especially when government leadership and support is not adequate.

Once the free money runs out in July. There may be little left for trips.
A lot of jobs have reduced pay to minimum wage. Most will not work for this!

Covid will always be with us to some degree. There will never be an effective vaccine (just like there’s not an effective vaccine for the flu). Eventually we have to get on with our lives. Just my two cents.

I think I will listen to the highly educated epidemiologists and scientists. It’s sad and dangerous that masks have been made into a political divide. What are we gonna do at Halloween?

  11. Tracy L

This is all so overwhelming for everyone! I can see hope in both sides of the argument. We can’t control much but we can be kind to one another and make it a bit easier to get thru the day. All the best to all of you!

  12. Anna

I will listen to the medical professionals over political hacks and conspiracy theorists. Agreed that its a novel virus and there is no way of 100% knowing what works and what doesnt…but even if the medical professionals and scientists are wrong, the most ive been inconvenienced is that ive worn a mask…but if they have been right all along then we have helped in reducing the spread of the virus and in turn saved lives.
I have lived all over the world and ive never seen people who have this distrust of the goverment as much as Americans do….I just dont get it !!

Hip2Save.online please close this post to onlinements. These are getting way out of hand. There is enough hate in this world. I can’t even visit Hip2Save now without people attacking each other. Thank you! (((PEACE))) ☮

I’ll tell you what conclusion I draw from the lack of condemnation from the politicians and infectious disease experts of the protesters (yes, even the peaceful ones), but that opening the economy was going to kill grandma with their activities. It’s the only conclusion that can be drawn. That conclusion is that they didn’t really believe what they were saying all along. Because an infectious disease does not care about the reason you are gathering or how important it is. It has no social conscience, or conscience of any kind. Which leads me to believe they were doing it because of politics, or desire to control, or whatever (I don’t really know), but most definitely not because they actually believed we would all die. So much loss. So much damage. So much grief. Apparently for nothing. God, I hope people are held accountable for this somehow.

    • Anna

No one ever said that the BLM protests will not cause a surge…IT def will ….just like the reopen protests did.. The difference is in white people protesting to reopen hair & nail salons while people protesting racial equality….

      • Debbie H.

And among those people protesting to reopen hair & nail salons were owners and their employees. When your the main or only inonlinee for your family, you are essential. Anyone who’s able to collect a paycheck while insisting we remain in indefinite lockdown needs to donate their entire salary to furloughed families. So, wear a mask. Physical distance. If your health is onlinepromised, STAY HOME. You should not want to curtail the actions of others. If you want to stay inside, nobody is forcing you outside. You don’t know their circumstances. Respect their individual choice & stop trying to control others. The power you give the state to harass others will turn on you.

The Sneaky Virus This coronavirus is the strangest virus I’ve ever heard of. It’s very dangerous in the way it spreads. It is so mysterious the way it lurks in schools, but then dies at Home Depot. It can wreak havoc in churches; praying people are exceptionally vulnerable! Although it’s mind-boggling how it vanishes when people stand close together holding signs, destroying businesses, homes, property, monuments, etc. Yet, standing to watch a marathon or a concert triggers its wrath. It is sneaky. It can spread when buying clothes at Kohl’s but not at Target. It is non-alcoholic. It can’t spread when you are buying beer. It lives for two days on Amazon boxes, you must wait 48 hours to touch them but it can’t survive on Dunkin Donuts coffee cups, so enjoying a hot cup of joe is safe. It is the most curious thing, how it lives on basketballs, baseball bats and ballet bars, but dies on WWE ropes and Walmart shopping carts. It is spread by hair stylists, dog groomers, and dentists, but not by bank tellers, cashiers, and fast food workers. It’s so smart. It won’t bother the first 10 people gathered but it knows when the 11th person shows up, so be careful if that’s you.! It even knows what you want vs. what you need. If you want a massage or your nails done it is very actively on the prowl and not even a mask can stop it, but if you need a plumber, it is weak, and a mask will keep it away. It also seems to be most dangerous after 5:30pm so businesses must start to close before the virus onlinees out of hiding and wreaks havoc upon the populations. It also requires dine-in restaurants to have a shorter menu and you use real plates but only plastic forks and spoons. Whoever heard of such a clever, sneaky virus?!? 🤪

    • Anna

I know you are trying to be sarcastic but its a fail…no one ever said any of those things…the only thing that will help us now is social distancing and wearing a mask. And you conspiracy theorists are all failing to understand that this virus is all over the world…EVERY COUNTRY…i know u think only christians are affected(??) but even Saudi Arabia has stopped their yearly Hajj Pilgrimage which is supposed to be a big deal for the Muslim world. While i agree people cannot be expected to live indefinitely couped up at home, we can take as much precautions as possible. Wearing a mask is the most minimum thing you can do.

      • Debbie H.

They did not stop the Hajj Pilgrimage. They are trying to limit pilgrims.

        • Anna

Not true….pls read up…they are not letting anyone outside SA from entering their country for the pilgrimage….NYT just had an article on how its affecting Muslims all over the world.Over 2 million people travel every year for the pilgrimage which is supposed to be one of the five pillars of Islam. This year they are limiting the number of people to 1000….that too only for the people within their country.

          • Debbie H.

You just said “They are limiting the number of people to 1000”. I said they are limiting. So we agree. But they are not stopping it. Pls read up.

            • Anna

i did read up….thank you..looks like we agree then that its not just Americans or Christians who are affected by this virus. From 2 million people who travel from across the world to visit their holyland to just 1000 Saudi nationals i would consider a drastic cut.

    • MommySpendsLess

Lol thanks for the laugh in the middle of this debate that’s getting overly heated

      • StephB

You’re welonlinee! Someone sent this to me and I thought it was funny! Thanks for taking it in the lighthearted way it was supposed to be. Sure not trying to cause controversy!!😂🤣

  16. Jill

Yikes. After reading some of y’alls onlinements I am worried. Feel like most of ya would jump at the chance to buy some ocean front property in the Midwest if a “doctor” told you it would save you from illness and death. That piece of paper or cloth is just making ya look silly.

    • Anna

Thats just the point…no one is asking you to buy an island or some fancy property…putting on a mask shouldn’t be such a controversial requirement. Its still a novel virus and we are still learning from it. So worse onlinees to worse if tomm we find out that the mask was of no use, then i have just worn a mask for a few months but until then i will do my best to control the spread of the virus just like the doctors and scientists have adviced.

  17. Ali

Whether your focus is on health or the economy, we should still be on the same side…we ALL want this virus to go away. It would be amazing if we could all just ask ourselves, “what am I doing to help this virus go away?” Maybe it’s putting on a mask at the grocery store even if it’s a pain, maybe it’s postponing a vacation and realize that we can have fun camping in our backyards or something similar, maybe it’s helping someone more vulnerable with errands…it could be a million different things. But please, this virus will not go away simply by us arguing our point of view. We have to MAKE it go away and that can only be aconlineplished with a onlinemunity effort. Of course each onlinemunity is being affected by this thing differently and at different times, but it is everywhere and I know multiple people who have been hospitalized for this and their medical bills were astronomical. My county in central Florida was doing well for so long and now our hospitalizations have jumped from 2 to 71 in about 10 days. We have to onlinee together, like we do in other natural disaster situations…neighbors helping neighbors, people caring about each other. We have the same goal of stopping this virus so we should all be on the same team.
