Trader Joe’s is selling ketchup-flavored shelf-stable french fries!

Trader Joe’s Spud Crunchies have been a snacking favorite of french fry fans for years.

Made with US-grown Russet potatoes and a special lower-temperature cooking method, these snacks have a crisp outside and an airy inside. They’re said to resemble a fresher, lighter version of those extra-crunchy french fries found at the bottom of fast-food fry cartons.

For a limited time, you can get TJ’s Spud Crunchies in a seasonally-available ketchup flavor. Back for a second summer, these snacks are made with the original Spud Crunchies and covered in a tangy, tomato-based ketchup seasoning.

Ketchup-flavored Spud Crunchies

Stetson grabbed both the original and ketchup-flavored Spud Crunchies on his last trip to Trader Joe’s, and here’s what he thought:

These are a fun little snack! If you’re looking for a subtle french fry taste, then then the regular Spud Crunchies are for you. They taste really good and they’re not too salty. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the ketchup seasoning on the flavored Crunchies, but it turned out to be tasty! It tastes like I just dunked a french fry in some ketchup! Out of these two, the ketchup version was definitely my favorite.

You can find Trader Joe’s Original and Ketchup-Flavored Spud Crunchies in the snack aisle, where they’re sold in four-ounce bags for $1.99. Stock up for those moments when your favorite fast-food drive-through feels just a little too far away!

If they taste anything like those Ketchup flavored chips that for whatever reason are only sold in Canada then i’m all about it. I can’t wait to try them!

YES!!! they are pretty good. Tasted them last time they were in stock. And this from a happy Canadian mom living in the US who fills her suitcase with LAYS ketchup chips annually. This will make up for my non pilgrimage to Canada this summer because of this darn pandemic. I am one happy Canadian – eh?!

They need to bring ketchup potato chips to the US. I hope these are onlineparable to the ones we get when we go to Toronto.
