Grease Singalong Will Replace Tony Awards June 7th on CBS
CBS is replacing the Tony Awards with a movie sing-a-long.
With Broadway theaters closed until at least September 6th and the 74th Annual Tony Awards postponed indefinitely, CBS is planning to air a singalong version of a beloved musical in the awards show’s place.
CBS will show the Grease Singalong on Sunday, June 7th at 8:30 PM in place of the originally scheduled 2020 Tony Awards ceremony. It will air as part of the network’s Sunday Night Movie series, which also features Titanic (May 24th) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (May 31st).
The singalong version of this classic 1978 movie (starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John) will take viewers back to Rydell High for the original high school musical. Fans will see on-screen lyrics so they can sing along with Sandy, Danny, and all the Pink Ladies and T-birds.
If you want to brush up on your singing or dance moves so you’re ready for the singalong, Amazon Prime Members can stream Grease now for as low as $2.99 for a limited time!
