We love reviewing the latest viral restaurant trends for you! 😋🍗🍩

KFC recently announced that it added Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts to its menus through March 16th (or for as long as supplies last).

With less than a month to order KFC’s world-famous Extra Crispy fried chicken with warm, fresh, glazed-to-order donuts, we didn’t waste any time sending Stetson out to give it a shot. Collin’s daughter, Piper, had the chance to try some too. Read on to get their take on this sweet and savory onlinebo!

KFC menu

Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts are available in the form of a basket meal and a sandwich. We found the doughnuts themselves to be rather tasty, although they’re denser than what you’d get at Krispy Kreme. Naturally, there’s a higher degree of structural integrity required to support a chicken donut sandwich. 😋

Has the chicken sandwich craze reached tasty new heights or bottomed out with a sticky new low?

Here are our honest opinions:

Collin says,

My daughter Piper was like – fried chicken and donuts? What?! That’s weird. However, my normal keto-eating self was thinking – “I would love to have fried chicken and donuts in my mouth stat.”

The crispy fried chicken and glaze dripping off the donut… oh my. I’m all about the sweet and savory onlinebo… and love both fried chicken and donuts. However, I did abstain since this isn’t even close to being keto, lol, and let Piper do the taste test. Just like her mama, she fell in love with this onlinebo at first bite.

She was surprised at how good they tasted together, and couldn’t believe that KFC made such a yummy glazed donut. And no, I wouldn’t say fried chicken and donuts are a healthy option – but hey, it’s fun to enjoy stuff like this on occasion!

Stetson says,

I didn’t know what to expect going into this experience. I thought it sounded gross to eat a piece of chicken with a glazed donut. Turns out I was so wrong, and it was so good! The onlinebo that I thought seemed strange at first made my taste buds do a happy dance. 💃 Don’t knock it until you try it!

KFC’s Chicken and Doughnuts are only available through March 16th, which is probably in the best interest of our nation’s collective health. If sampling this sweet and savory onlinebo is on your bucket list or even if you’re even just remotely curious about how it tastes, you’ll want to try it while you can.

Honestly, we can’t think of a more enjoyable way to consume 1,100 calories worth of artery-clogging grease and glaze. Just don’t make a habit of it, and be sure to grab extra napkins. Enjoy! 😉

    Heart attack anyone?

If you ate this every day of your life, but most people won’t. LOL

  2. JMcRayde

Wow, this is so awful. This may top the list of foods worse than bacon for youπŸ™ˆπŸ˜³

    • shop4mybabies

bacon isn’t bad for you, in moderation, and is healthier than a bowl of cereal according to my nutritionist and weight loss doctor

    • dylanfan

Where did you attend nutrition school again?

    • Carol

Thumper, what did your father say…..

  3. Denise

My teenage son’s friend ordered this when we visited kfc yesterday. The piece of chicken was huge which just made the sandwich look that much bigger seated between two glazed donuts πŸ˜„ he liked it but wasn’t able to finish the sandwich because he ordered potato wedge fries with it.

  4. Jen

I love that y’all tried it. Even though I don’t like doughnuts, I was interested to see if people really would like this onlinebo.

  5. dre

Sheesh. How much is it? KFC is ridiculously expensive unless you have a coupon.

    • Tia in FL

I was there tonight for regular chicken. I think the onlinebo was $7.99 and a couple of pieces was $5 or $6.

It’s not as bad as it sounds!! When I was younger, my granny would always get a dozen of glaze donuts (from the local pastry shop) when she cooked fried chicken. We never made a sandwich out of it, but the onlinebination of eating a piece of hot, crispy fried chicken followed up with the sweetness of a bite of glaze donut.. yummmm!!

  7. Naayomee

I’ve been buying a chicken finger and a glazed croissant from our local H-E-B for years. I’m sure it’s delicious!

  8. agh925

This sounds sooo good to my pregnant self!

    • MamaBear

Girl, send your hubby out for one!!

      • Amy

I hate this. Just because you are pregnant, does not mean you can’t go get it yourself if need be.

        • Cristine

Also nothing wrong with being pampered when growing a life inside of you. πŸ™„ As a mom I’m usually the one taking care of everyone else. It was nice to get a little special treatment while I was pregnant.

      • agh925

Haha!!! The onlinement underneath…are people just looking for reasons to be mad? I think I’m grabbing one for myself today because I’m going into town (our nearest kfc is 30 mins away) and my husband never goes there unless he’s with me!

        • MamaBear

          Sure seems like it!

  9. Eva

I tried the donuts just now. On their own, they are $1 each. OMG They are so good! Better than Krispy Kreme.

    • jennifer

      Wow!

    • Erin

I can imagine my KFCs frying the donuts and chicken in the same dirty oil. 🀒 Glad to hear it’s good!

  10. Jessica

I’ll take just the donuts those look SO GOOD πŸ€€πŸ˜‡

  11. Carling

I feel like it would have the same pop to your pallet as chicken and waffles. I love sweet and salty. This might be worth a cheat day. Or to share with my hubs and son just to try.

  12. HBee

“Wha?? April fools already?? ” That’s what I thought when I first saw this post…

  13. Melanie

Just tried it and it was ok. Kind of pricey, $8 for 4 tenders and 2 donuts. I think next time I will buy the glazed donuts and chicken tenders at Publix – $3 for 6 donuts and $7/lb for the chicken tenders πŸ™‚

  14. Gcode

I definitely want to try it but I have had a bacon cheeseburger & the buns weren’t buns they were crispy cream donuts
