Sonic Drive-In Is Creating Hard Seltzers Inspired by Its Popular Slush Flavors
This Sonic Happy Hour is for just for grownups! 🍹
Summer is right around the corner, and with warmer weather onlinees chirping birds, budding flowers, and the return of hard seltzer season! This year, it sounds like there will be new hard seltzer flavors to get excited about, thanks to Sonic Drive-In!
Food & Wine is reporting that Sonic is planning to turn some of its most popular Slush flavors into hard seltzer this summer. While not very much is known about these new products, beverage insiders believe that we can expect a “Citrus Variety Pack” featuring Lemon Berry, Classic Lemonade, Cherry Limeade, and Original Limeade flavors, and a “Tropical Variety Pack” with Orange Pineapple, Mango Guava, Ocean Water, and Melon Medley flavors.
According to product mockups that have been released, the cans are labeled as 5% ABV with 160 calories and 2 grams of sugar. One lucky taste tester reports that “pre-release cans have been very promising.”
While the rest of us will have to wait to taste these highly-anticipated adult beverages, we’ll get our chance on May 1, when they’re scheduled to be released. Don’t expect to see them at your local Sonic Drive-In, though! They’ll be sold in 12-packs wherever alcoholic beverages can be purchased near you.
