can you use balance rewards that you already have to make this purchase and receive the 3000 points?

    • JenniferS

No not when you’re earning Balance Rewards at Walgreens. You can’t use pts. to pay and earn in same transaction.

    • Mel

Yes you can earn points if you redeem points on a Quantity based offer, since this is buy 2.

You cannot redeem and earn on a spend offer, like Spend $30, get 10,000 points.

      • SueJo

I just looked up the Walgreens policy and somehow I missed the quantity based loop hole. I was thinking after reading the policy that I wouldn’t be able to redeem points and earn points in the same transaction. I can never remember this policy because I don’t shop at Walgreens as much as I do CVS. Thanks for this clarification. I will try using points on this transaction, while hopefully earning 3000 points!

        • Lisa

Suejo, May I ask where you found the Walgreens policy you spoke about which allows you to earn pts on a quantity offers? I have searched the website and can’t seem to find it.

          • SueJo

Hey Lisa, This is what I saw on the Walgreens official rules which made me think you COULD NOT earn points if you redeemed points: “Points will not be earned on the portion of a transaction that was paid for using redemption dollars or store credit.” The full policy that I copied that from is here: https://www.walgreens.online/images/adaptive/si/balancerewards/BalanceRewards_termsandconditions.pdf
However, Mel was correct saying that you would earn points on this speed stick deal even if you used points because I just did this deal this morning and used 2000 points and still earned my 3000 points.

    • Vanessa

Yes, you can. It works exactly as Mel explained above.

Does anyone know if Walgreens “rounds up” like CVS does? For example, for a spend $12, get $4 ECB at CVS, you’ll get the $4 if you spend slightly less, $11.98, etc. I was told by an employee at Walgreens that they do not do this, but wanted to see if anyone has tried this. It always seems like when they have at deal like spend $20, get $10 balance rewards, all of the items are $19.99! Thanks!

    • Joyce

I was wondering kind of the same thing. I have a Wags generated coupon for 5000 points back if I spend $20. Does anyone know if that is before or after coupons (and manufacturer vs. Walgreens coupons)???

      • Renee

After store coupons but before manufacturer coupon.

    • Mel

Unfortunately no. At Walgreens you have to hit the spend amount exactly (or go over). There is no 98% calculation grace like cvs!

      • Tracey

        Thanks Mel!

  3. CinPal

    I guess I didn’t get the coupons.
