Disneyland Resort Phased Reopening Plans DELAYED
Disney is delaying its reopening plans!
Disney originally announced plans to begin a phased reopening of Disneyland Resort starting July 9th – now they’re delayed.
The State of California is not expected to issue theme park reopening guidelines until after July 4th. Because of this, Disney has decided to push back the reopening dates as it would not give them enough time to recall cast members or onlineplete necessary safety preparations.
The updated reopening schedule is:
- Downtown Disney District — July 9th
- Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park —
July 17thTBD - Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel —
July 23rdTBD
You’ll notice some major changes…
Once the parks do reopen, expect enhanced health and safety measures will be implemented, such as cleaning protocols, and limitations on guest parking and operating hours. There will also be Guest Experience Teams available to assist guests with understanding and adapting to the new policies.
Downtown Disney District, with its special shopping and dining experiences, will operate under guidelines based on advice from health authorities. These operational changes include promoting physical distancing, cleanliness through the district, and more changes that will be announced soon.
Theme park capacity will be significantly limited to onlineply with government regulations and promote physical distancing. To limit attendance, a new reservation system will be employed to require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to make a reservation in order to gain entry.
Guest experiences that attract large audiences, such as nighttime spectaculars and parades, will not immediately be available but are expected to return at a later date. Character meet-and-greets will also be suspended, but your favorite Disney characters will still be around to entertain in new ways. Certain attractions, restaurants, and more may also be limited or unavailable.
In addition, there will be a temporary pause on new ticket sales and Annual Passport sales and renewals. Check here for future updates on these new regulations!
