    Are these glass?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Hi there! These are ceramic.

  2. CJ

I love these! I wonder though, a few years ago there was a warning that the plates at dollar tree were for “decorative use only” and not for consumable foods. Does anyone know If these are safe to eat off of?

    • Heather V.

Yeah, I’d worry about the paint having lead in it or something.

  3. Barbara

I have these. I just use the plates to decorate my dining room table. Love them.

    • CJ

do they say for decoration only on the bottom?

      • Barbara

no. it actually says microwave and dishwasher safe.

        • CJ

Thanks for checking! I’ll pick some up! 🙂

  4. Sarah

They had these last year and people bought them pretty fast…. but did anyone on here get them? How did they hold up?

    • Yep, I said it!

      I did. They are great!

  5. Yep, I said it!

Yay!!! Bought the dishes last year, but couldn’t find all of the glasses.

  6. Kat

Some of these items are cute to add to your “Box of Sunshine” gift idea you posted about not long ago!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

What a great idea, Kat! Thanks for the suggestion!

  7. ccmama

Does anyone worry about these onlineing from over seas and more than likely contain lead based inks? Same with the glass products. Sometimes it’s not worth saving a buck or two for cute dishes.

    • Erin

Yup! I’d be careful about what you buy and what what you use it for with DT stuff. I have non-DT plates marked microwave/dishwasher safe that clearly weren’t. If stamped labels on the products themselves can’t be trusted, I’m not sure how trustworthy any old DT food implements would be.

      • Rebecca

DT makes a lot of their own stuff & have pretty high standards, I’d trust this as much as any dishes bought elsewhere.

    • Jessica

I don’t buy why glassware with markings on it for this reason. But I have noticed that Tamara Rubin has actually tested quite a few things from DT that onlinee back clean.

      • E

I was just going to say this! Newer ceramics from dollar tree have tested clean for lead. Her info is so great. One of my kids had a high lead test and her stuff helped me sort through what would likely have lead and not likely have it. Thank goodness that is a few years behind us now, but I still frequent Rubin’s site.

  8. Rachel Pearson

I purchased the salad plates and dish towels a week ago. I thought the plates will be nice to layer for a cheerful look on my dining room table.

  9. J

Dollar Tree is killing it right now. FYI right now they have lots of name brands in the snack section including Chex Mix, Ritz, Oreos, Leap Frog hot sauces, Gold Fish, TGIF onion rings bags, Lay’s Stax, Heinz Ketchup (regular & the spicy one as well) Lance cookies, etc. Make sure to check your Dollar Tree before going to the grocery stores. You never know how much you can save.

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks, J! We’ll keep an eye out for more name brands!

  10. Jan

Darn all the stores any where close to me are already sold out I missed them again this yr☹️

    • Ashley

Dollar Tree also does online ordering that might be worth looking into. I didn’t look at these specifically but I have placed an order and picked up in-store for other items before.

      • rochellemcgee

My store was wiped out and I was only able to grab a few dinner plates. Employee told me to order online and ship to store. Shipping to store is not available on these (I confirmed with customer service by phone). Shipping kills the deal – for me, it’s almost as much for shipping as it is for the case of dishes. Guess I’ll be returning the plates.

        • Kim

I just bought 24 pieces and the shipping was only $3.60. That’s not bad at all imo.

          • rochellemcgee

Oh wow! Mine came up to $20. When I asked the rep, she said it was weight based.

          • rochellemcgee

            Did you ship to store?

  11. Mama6

These are actually super sweet 🙂 I picked up potholders, hand towels and such for my son’s girlfriend as she just moved into a new apartment. I added a candle to the gift bag and it was a nice little housewarming gift.

  12. Kristin

Will these lemon plates, bowls ect. be back in stock again. I kept trying to get them and was too late each time.
