Apple Launches Free Coronavirus Screening Tool
In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the White House, Apple just launched a new website and app to provide people with information and guidance regarding the coronavirus.
Both the website and the app offer a free online screening tool, information about the virus, and suggestions on when to seek testing or emergency care. The screening tool asks you questions about symptoms, recent travel, and contact with people who have been diagnosed with or exposed to the virus.
After onlinepleting the screening process, users receive the CDC’s reonlinemendations for the next steps to take, including whether testing for COVID-19 is reonlinemended. Apple cautioned in a press release that this “does not replace instructions from healthcare providers or guidance from state and local health authorities.”
The app and website also offer resources to help you stay informed and get the support you need. You’ll find answers to frequently asked questions about COVID-19 and get information from the CDC like best practices for washing hands, disinfecting surfaces, and monitoring symptoms.
