The website says the dog advent calendar is $5.99, not sure if that’s correct. They are super adorable, though! I wish there was a TJ closer to me!! They also had a cat advent calendar advertised!

    • Allison

I was about to say, I paid $5 for the dog ones.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! We were able to grab all of these for 99 cents! Hope this helps!

    • Sam

They are $5.99. I paid this the other day for my doggy one!

    • Kristina

I paid $5.99 for dog advent calendar yesterday.

  2. Loren

Oh my goodness, the advent calendar for dog is such a great idea! Does anyone know if the treats inside is big enough for larger dogs?

    • April

The majority of the treats are small. The treat for the last day is large. I bought one last week (5.99 in Wichita Kansas) for my Miniature Pincher. It will be perfect for him.

  3. Amye

FYI the regular ones were 99cents at my store but the dog ones were $5.99

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh darn! Thanks for onlinementing. We did score the dog calendar for 99 cents at our store.

  4. AmyU

Long shot, but if anyone has a dog one in hand can you tell me if the treats made in the USA? I’d make the 45 min drive to the closest TJ if so. TIA!

    • Amy

That’s actually a really good question because I usually only buy made in the USA food and treats for my dogs… should have thought of it when I bought it. I checked and can’t find anything about where it was made… just the distribution city (Monrovia, CA.) I looked online and couldn’t find it either. You could always contact them through their website to ask… I did it once for a different reason and responded quickly.

      • AmyU

Thank you so much for this response, Amy! 😊

  5. Melissa

From Trader Joe’s website: We’re selling each 5.11-ounce Trader Joe’s Advent Calendar for Dogs for $5.99, a price definitely worth barking about.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO odd as we were able to grab them for 99 cents. Thanks for sharing, Melissa!

      • Tracey

Maybe they scanned one calendar & then entered the number you bought? That might explain why you were able to get it for .99.

  6. jacalynm

Just got two chocolate calendars for .99 cents each and a dog advent calendar for $5.99.

  7. Amy

I paid $5.99 for the dog ones too… just about a week ago! That is super disappointing to have them so cheap now. 🙁 I guess I should have waited! Lesson learned… 😉

  8. jennifer

I just got back from my Trader Joe’s in Northern California and the dog calendars were 5.99 here too. I got three of the .99 chocolate ones for my kiddos!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the price may vary by location.

      • Jay

TJ’s employee here. Price definitely doesn’t vary by location. Either someone messed up at the store or check your receipt and make sure you paid what you think you did. I’m guessing if you go back you won’t find them at that price.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for onlinementing, Jay! Good to know! We have updated the post!

  9. Maria Martin

FYI.. the cat and dog ones are $5.99. The people ones are .99

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much! The post has been updated!

  10. Amber

    $5.99 dog calendar here too.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, Amber! Sorry for the confusion!

  11. kristadoan

I buy them for 99¢ and the dog ones for $5.99! The chocolate ones aren’t great, but they are super fun! I also scored a beauty advent calendar for $19.99, but the back lists what it has inside and it seems like a great deal! I’ll be excited to start opening them!

  12. Merry

Anyone have any great hints on where to get a good deal on advent calendars online? We live in a rural location and they are super expensive at the grocery store. I normally buy 10 or more for nieces and nephews…

  13. brindhaG

How does the chocolate in the advent calenders taste? Like chocolate flavored taste or actual chocolate?

    • kristadoan

The chocolate is VERY mediocre lol, but 24 pieces for 99¢ is worth it. They’re fun if nothing else! They’re all different shapes so I enjoy them.

      • brindhaG

        Ok thanks for the feedback

  14. Janine

Just got the dog calendar today for $5.99 as others have mentioned. Just curious what part of the US is selling them for $0.99? That seems very strange. I wonder if it was marked by mistake!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the feedback, Janine! It seems those are selling at $5.99. The post has been updated!

  15. Ella

I picked some up a few of the chocolate calendars for my kids last year. They said they ordered the chocolate in the advent calendars from Aldi, so we’re back to the Aldi calendars this year. They are just a little bit more at $1.39

    • Ella

      *preferred not ordered, sorry!

      • kathleen

My family also prefers Aldi’s chocolates over Trader Joe’s. The TJ ones taste kind of plastic-y to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

  16. Michelle

Yep. Dog calendars are not 99 cents in Denver. I was just there yesterday. I was SO tempted – packaging is great but not a very good deal.

  17. MIRIAM PHINNEY

Did your receipt say dog calendar?
I wonder if they scanned the 99 cent calendar instead of the dog calendar.
Definitely selling for $5.99. Price does not vary by store.
    Not 99 cents.

    • Deirdre

That’s what I was thinking as well. I just talked to the people at my Trader Joe’s – they said that it had to of been a mistake and they even said that it was irresponsible of a large coupon blog to be telling people it’s $.99. yikes; sorry!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing with us! We have updated the price!

  18. Becca

Got these last year for my kiddos and the chocolate wasn’t very good, they wouldn’t even eat it.

  19. Jessie

Pet calendars are definitely $5.99. I’m guessing they just scanned the chocolate one and added a quantity.

    • Liza (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there, Jessie! We were able to score the pet ones for 99 cents, but it looks like that may have been super YMMV so I’ve updated the post. Hope that helps! 🙂

      • Janine

Sorry but what does YMMV stand for?

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That stands for “Your Mileage May Vary”. 😊

          • Dimple

            Thanks!

            • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

              You’re welonlinee!

  20. Caroline

Dog calendars are definitely $5.99 not .99
Super cute though the post is misleading.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

So sorry for any confusion, Caroline. It looks like we may have been charged mistakenly. The post details have been updated.
