Did you mean per year? 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Whoops! Thanks, Ashley! Just updated!

  2. Heather

I tried doing it online, wouldn’t work. Sat on the phone with them for 45 minutes and he couldn’t figure it out 🙇🏻‍♀️

    • petra

      same

      • Amber Adkisson

        Same

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh no! SO sorry to hear that, Heather. Maybe try to chat with them via “Live Chat”. I have always found their customer service to be very helpful that way. I also found this option listed in the details for anyone having issues – ” If you are having trouble verifying your eligibility online, our Customer Support team can help you over email after your first verification attempt.” Hoping you can get signed up real soon!

      • Sandra

Having trouble as well. I emailed them [email protected] and an awaiting a reply

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Ok, good! Hoping they can help!

        • Jaejae

          I have done the same.

    • Steph

I am having trouble too. It says “you have selected an ineligible payment method” when there is no place to put a payment method…..

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! Maybe try sending them an email or chat with customer service online. Hoping they may be able to offer help!

    • Mizz Mo

I was having an issue as well. Ended up that I had to cancel my current membership – then add this and it went through no issues. Hope this helps! 😃

    • Anthony

      Same

    • Lee DOrlando

I tried talking to customer service. She didn’t know anything. sent me here.

    • delorcedavisclark

      Wouldn’t work for me either!

    • Mary Latour

      Same…

  3. johnniesutterfield-ahrens

Could I sign up as a spouse. Husband is in the army. And he never buys online. I’m the one who orders from amazon for everyone in the house.

    • Wren

      I’m wondering this too 🧐

    • Txgirl05

Sign up as him and then add yourself to the addresses 🙂

    • Mizz Mo

Yes, just go into your account like you normally do and follow the steps. No need to create a new account. If you do run into an issue, you may need to cancel your current Prime membership to add this discounted membership.

      Hope this helps! Cheers! 😃

  4. Kelly

My husband is a Veteran, but the Prime account is in my name with his account part of the household. Can I extend my Prime account?

    • Dinky120101

I was wondering the same. The account is in my name, but we both use it. I tried my info, but it said something went wrong 🙁

    • MrsGarfield

I was able to do it without an issue earlier today. My husband is a household member so that might have helped.

  5. Jenifer

I tried 3 times and did a chat and could not get it to work….

    • Ali

      Same

      • Shalona

I’ve chatted several times today, and emailed customer service. The best they offered was to cancel my current account and open one in his name . I didn’t want to do that, and tried one more time marking no (when it asks for active duty, veteran, or reserve) and then gave his discharge date. It worked! My hubby is a vet, and so while it doesn’t make sense, it worked!

  6. Dutchie

Hubby just turned to be a Veteran, account is in my name , wonder if it will work for me to do this?

  7. Kristen

I was able to do it for my husband, and I never had to send in any form of verification.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      🎉

  8. Kathy

Worked the first time I tried! Thank you for the tip! What a great savings!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! SO happy to hear that, Kathy! You’re welonlinee!

  9. Daphne Murray

I have just gotten off the phone with Amazon and right now they are having a few glitches with the sign up.  But they are in the process of fixing it, so keep trying.  Or contact customer service.  Also, I was told by customer service that if you have a Prime Account and your spouse is the Veteran or Military member, they will need to create a separate account to get this discount.  Hope this helps someone 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks SO much for your helpful onlinement! We sure appreciate it!

    • Christina

I just got a different t reply from [email protected] customer service. They said as long as the email I was emailing from,is,the same as on my account that all they needed was my husbands info which I sent them.

    • MrsGarfield

That is not necessary. I got the discount without creating an account on his name. However he is a family member on my account.

  10. Darcy M

I have been emailing Amazon back and forth figuring this out for an hour or so.

Tip: You can use your own Amazon account, just use all your spouse’s information if they are the active service member. They didn’t have an issue with this as we use the account jointly for our household.

Through email it was easy for them to verify everything, but with the glitches they’re working through I was told to wait 24 hours before I tried to put through my purchase. Hoping it works out cause this is a great deal.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh awesome! Thanks a ton for the feedback! SO glad customer service was helpful!

  11. queen62

Off topic Christmas Tree Shop 25%off entire purchase Nov.9-11 just show your ID.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Ooh! I love that store! Thanks for the heads up!

  12. AF

I would like to know that how good to be a prime member. I would appreciate your review.

  13. Chris Woods

I think it stinks they dont extend this to military spouses..majority are women who do most of the shopping for the family.

    • CW

Fyi I take back previous onlinement 🤣 just spoke with Amazon. If u add your Military spouse to your “household” u can extend & get the deal. U are allowed 2 adults in HH & up to 4 children.

      • johnniesutterfield-ahrens

How would I add my husband to the household? I couldn’t find it

        • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Go to your Amazon Account and look in the middle bottom section called “Shopping Programs and Rentals”. You should see Amazon Household there and you can update with your spouse’s name. Hope this helps!

    • Amy

There are a lot of women in the military. It’s rather archiac to assume the spouses are all women.

  14. geralynn702

Off topic somewhat … but the Apple AirPods Pro pre-order price of $234.99 is back. 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      SWEET! Thanks!

      • Patricia Myers Singleton

        How did you get through?

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Are you trying to get through to customer service? You can do that via online chat, email or by phone. Hope this helps!

  15. Jim Mosley

Not working. Called customer service and she didn’t know why.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Bummer! Sorry for the issues. Maybe try chatting online or emailing them to see if they may be able to help that way.

    • Jim

      Yes it works now

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

        Yay! Glad to hear it!

  16. Patricia Myers Singleton

No luck here. I tried the email given and am told it’s an invalid email address.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! Maybe contact them or wait a bit and try again.

  17. Jay

Thanks! Worked for me right away on mobile!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SWEET! You’re welonlinee, Jay! SO happy it was easy for you to score!

  18. Inascentfun

I got it to work by deactivating my account and then using the Veteran link to turn it back on. It did not mess up anything on my account.

  19. E Huggins

I was given this address to contact customer support to get it resolved. And to include this information:
    First Name:
    Last Name:
    Date of Birth:
What is your current status – Active Duty, Veteran, Retiree or Reserve?
    – If you are a Veteran or Retiree, what is your discharge month and year?
    – If you are active duty, what is your .mil email address?

  20. Peaches

I sent an email to the email link and it took a good 30 minutes to get a reply back asking for the same info the website was requesting. another 30 minutes and I was good to go. So nice! I’ve been missing the Prime access but $119 is a bit steep for a single, older person’s household.

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I’m so glad you were able to get it, Peaches!

  21. Susan

    Thank you!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re welonlinee, Susan!

  22. Sara

It worked! Thank you for saving me $40!

  23. rerun4u2

Mine wouldn’t go through either. Called them & they advised to keep trying as they are working on it.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hoping it works for you soon!

  24. Lisa

    Worked first time. Thank you!!

  25. jmullaly

I keep getting an error message. Not working for me

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! Be sure to try again or contact customer service.

  26. Christy

Thank you so very much! I have been waiting for this deal!! My family is all Military so this is a huge help to us, and when having to ship items

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      PERFECT! You’re welonlinee, Christy!

  27. Mike

Do they make you pay now if you already paid for the year’s membership? I paid the full price in September so I really don’t want to pay again now even if it extends my membership for another year. I rather they charge me the $79 when my membership renews next September.

    • Heather

Yes you will pay the $79 and it will extend your membership for another year.

  28. Heather

I spent all day working on this! If you are not the AD member follow these steps if it doesn’t work: 1. Add AD member under household – follow activation steps (verify email & OTP code). 2. Add household member to Prime Video with linked payment info (it will walk you through this part). 3. Follow the steps for the link posted here. If this doesn’t work after steps 1 and 2, email them. They’ll activate for you & you can go back in and add it to your cart! I just paid for a year in June so now ours is valid until June of 2021!! Hope this helps some of you 🙂

  29. Renee

Worked perfect for me. My husband is a veteran from the Marine Corps. Thank you!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      GREAT! You’re welonlinee, Renee!

  30. Patty d

Wouldn’t go through so I sent and email and they asked for details about discharge etc.
    Waiting to here back.
While I’m very appreciative of the offer, they really need to get their act together!!

  31. Misty

Thanks for sharing! Worked perfectly! Great timing because our membership was up in December.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Oh good! You’re welonlinee, Misty!

  32. hellfiregainz

Honestly should be cheaper than that for them. EBT cardholder only pays 5.99 a month. That’s less per month than a Veteran membership.

    • Peaches

As a vet I’m thankful for whatever discount I’m offered.

  33. SW1991

I had issues too but they were able to verify my eligibility once I emailed them. It’s about time Amazon did something like this. It seems like not very often do they reward the hard working Americans or “heroes” of our society. Glad to see this, Kudos Amazon!

  34. Mimi

Thank you! Didn’t work for us yesterday BUT had no issues this morning 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Happy to hear that, Mimi! You’re welonlinee!

  35. johnniesutterfield-ahrens

    Got it today. Thank you

  36. Janice Sprague

Had no issues adding one year at $79 to my existing account. Went in and added hubby to my account (wasn’t on because he NEVER orders anything). Went to upper right corner in Amazon where it showed military discounted subscription, filled in his military info and it automatically added to my account, stating I will receive a new renewal date.

  37. Charity Antunez

soooo, I didn’t even have to show proof, it automatically put in the discount!

  38. neil

Good Luck. I can get ahold of anybody and im not giving anybody authority to delete my email which is what is requested by microsoft trying to get customer service. simply cant email them. try going direct to website GOOD LUCK. Not work $40.00 this hastle. If you REALLY dont want to discount then keep acting like the VA

  39. mpetruska

Wouldn’t let me do this because the account isn’t in the veterans name. Told me in order to do this they have to be the primary and not just on the account.

    • Sharon Morris

that is what I was told, too 🙁

  40. Shona Armstrong

I had not problem, as my spouse is part of my household. Just add your spouse and the military discount should go through no problem. I did not have to cancel or do anything else.

    • Sharon

Hubby is the veteran. He’s been a part of my household for years, and I can’t get the deal to work. Even emailed CS and they said it had to be on his account.

  41. Joni

Took me literally seconds to get this done. Very happy with Amazon. Put in my husband’s info and it went through almost instantly. $40 savings! Thanks.

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yay, glad you got that $40 savings Joni!

  42. Frustrated!

Our Prime membership is in my name, but hubs is the veteran and part of my household. BUT, we don’t share payment info. Do you know if we need to do that to get the deal to work on my account?

  43. Denise

So if I already have a membership that doesn’t renew for several months I lose those months by signing up now? They make you pay now and not when your membership is up? So I really don’t save money by losing months?

  44. danny

I have tried to sign up with no results. Called customer support, no one knew what to do. I was told to send email, as of today still cant sign up.

  45. Dennis

I have tried to sign up and had no results. I called several people and they could not help me either. I waited on the phone for over a hour and no results just frustration. Very upsetting I was told to do this and that and still got no answers.

  46. Greg Vizer

I am a veteran, I entered all the correct information starting at 4:00 p.m. yesterday, I emailed Amazon when the system had technical issues and Amazon requested the information that I provided at 4:54 p.m. yesterday. I waited and waited and waited for Amazon to resolve the issue within the correct time, I called customer service and I was told that IT WAS an Amazon internal issue. Amazon did not clear the issue until 12:45 a.m. this morning, after the time of the offer had ended. I have been emailing back and forth with them and even after explaining what happened and that it was an Amazon issue, they just said “This promotion was available between 6-11 November and has expired 11th midnight.”
Again, AMAZON emailed me at 12:45 a.m. today. AFTER the offer ended. Why is this so difficult for you to understand that it is YOUR (Amazon’s) fault, and not mine?

  47. Branden Maclin

Amazon didn’t even promote the discount for veterans day. I’m being told about it after the fact.
