Is there anything scary in this movie for a 5 yr old? I have never seen it & not sure if its small child appropriate? Thx!

    • Rainy

No, it’s kid friendly! I got it last year & my 9&6 year olds loved it!

    • candace

I saw it in the theater when I was 5! We were obsessed with it and used to play hocus pocus all the time. Really not scary/ kid friendly. Maybe a very sensitive 5 could be bothered bc they’re after children.

    • Cristine

My little girl thought it was scary, idk why because I love it. She said something about the witches being mean… They do suck the life out of little children. Lol. She is now 8 and I’m trying to talk her into giving it another try. Her cousin is the same age and loves it though.

  2. Dee

The only creepy thing might Billy the zombie. He’s funny but maybe his face might be a little bit scary for very little ones.

  3. Emily

If you have cable, I think they’re playing this movie every day on freeform or one of those channels like the old WB/CW. Then you can see if it is too scary before buying it.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the helpful onlinement, Emily! My kiddos recently watched it on Freeform!

  4. Steph

My 6 and 9 year old girls just watched it for the first time and weren’t scared. Look up images or clips of Billy to see if you think your child would be scared of that. Otherwise, the scariest part was when my children asked, “Mom, what’s a virgin?!” 🙂

  5. Gscribble

Walmart is back up to almost $20, and it’s out of stock 😕

    • Liza (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up, Gscribble! I just updated the post. It looks like it’s still available at Amazon for about $1 more if you’re still interested. 🙂

  6. shop4mybabies

my kids were never scared of it but it depends on your kid…and who knows when and if they’ll be scared of something. my 26 year old can’t watch any scary movies to this day. my 20 year old has been terrified of ET her entire life. She thinks it’s the scariest creepiest movie on the planet. My 21 year old is terrified of Scooby Doo and Coraline. My 15 year old isn’t afraid of anything and would probably love to reenact every horror movie. she’s creepy like her mother
